Kind, caring and knowledgeable
We went to Dr. Katchis for a 2nd consultation for our son. When we told him the time sensitivity we have for an upcoming sport event, he cleared things in order to see us. Very compassionate! He was very thorough with a hands-on examine as well as the MRI review, explaining all aspects of the issue and potential treatments. He was extremely conservative in his approach, opting for a bit of wait and see which way the symptoms go, with over-counter medicine to reduce inflammation and icing. It was exactly what made sense in light of wanting to avoid too proactive a procedure in order to keep our son in his sport. He is on a path to relief. Highly recommend.

Ankle Replacement
Dr. Katchis performed ankle replacement surgery on me eight months ago. The surgery was a success, and I am extremely impressed with Dr. Katchis and the staff at his office in Scarsdale. Dr. Katchis's personal assistant, Kyle, was always available on the phone to answer my questions and provide friendly, expert guidance. I was also very satisfied with my stay in Lenox Hill Hospital. Overall, this is an excellent doctor with a first-rate practice.

Years and Years of Success Thanks to Dr. Katchis
First saw Dr. Katchis for a painful damaged Achilles which he made all better again without surgery. Several more years later Dr. Katchis surgically fixed the shredded tendons of my foot so I was able to walk again. Then more recently, he had all the right answers to what caused my knee to collapse and how to get it quickly back into shape without surgical intervention. I love his medical expertise that has kept me mobile as well as his great personality which always cheers me up. Very helpful office staff as well.

He is a great sales person that makes you think he knows what he’s saying but it’s just sales. He ruined my feet. I’m in constant pain and it’s been ten years post op. Like the other person said in their review, when I first had negative surgery outcomes he ignored it and it could have been fixed if he fessed you to his errors and sent me to a pain management specialist after surgery. A few months later he admitted he cut the bone in my toe in the wrong spot and should have cut it in a different spot. I think he drags things out so the statute of limitations is over to sue him. I can’t wear any shoes I used to wear. It hurts to walk on a treadmill or elypyical and even sneakers hurt my foot. I’ve been told by other doctors that I need a second surgery for years now but I’m too scared.

Excellent dr. with a sole practitioner office. Great office staff. Explains everything well, answers all questions. I feel so fortunate to have found him. A rare dr in this time of group practices and long waits to get appts. Very knowledgeable and excellent demeanor. Highly personable.

Excellent in every way. Dr. Katchis is a skilled surgeon who just repaired badly shredded tendons in my right foot allowing me to walk pain free in just 2 weeks post-op. Not only that he explained my problem and the treatment in detail every step of the way, answering every little question I posed with care and concern. I have seen Dr.Katchis numerous times over the years for various orthopedic problems, and his skill, gracious manner and cheerful disposition has made each visit successful as well as very pleasant.

Feel badly I left a terrible review yesterday for katchis. But the awful infection following a common Morton’s neuroma surgery and the ensuing 7 months of pain, tests, IV’s, hospital stay and vac therapy caused me pain, inactivity and such a bad gait that other joints suffered and I cannot shake the regret and frustration over this. He is a nice guy and certainly did not do it on purpose. I just feel he could have seen the signs earlier and/or let other specialists go ahead w their suggestions (like a debridement 2 months prior to when I finally had it). As for my right toe, even he said he should have tackled the problem differently and I know he felt bad when he saw the result, but the huge bump of bone sticking up and making any shoe uncomfortable than before needs further surgery and I cannot tolerate the thought of doing anything surgically again.

Dr. Katchis fixed my bunion and fused bones in my foot to address the arthritis and pain I was experiencing. He is very low key, has a great sense of humor, and wonderful surgical skills. He was excellent at helping me manage pain, which actually was minimal, gave me detailed information about the surgery both before and after, and has given me a prescription for physical therapy, which he explained to me so that I would know I was in control. I would recommend him for any orthopedic issue.
