Great doctor
I was afraid to visit an ENT due to a bad experience in New Jersey. I went to Dr. Hemmerdinger and he did not cause me any pain, fixed my problem and was excellent.

On top of my health
Dr. Hemmerdinger is proactive, available and an advocate for his patients. He and his staff helped me navigate getting tested for my ailment, followed up by phone to communicate the status, and then reviewed my scans and provided me with the outcome immediately. The entire staff at the ENT site in Ardsley is amazing and I recommend then -- and Dr. Hemmerdinger -- highly.

Communicates clearly and efficiently
Dr. H is quick, and clear in his assessment and recommendations. He listened to my questions and had concise answers with different options for my son. I recommend him if you need clear precise answers/next steps. Bed side manner preferences are different for everyone. If you like a straightforward, efficient approach with little chit chat, this Dr. Is a good match. He’s not rude or odd, just confident and quick.

Expectations Exceeded
After suffering 4 months with a sinus infection, 3 prescriptions of ineffective antibiotics and finally a CAT scan, I sought care from Dr. Hemmerdinger. Simply by viewing the CAT scan, he diagnosed a bad tooth (which needed to be pulled) and prescribed an antibiotic that would be effective. The drug began working in 3 days, and I had the tooth extracted. Dr. H. Emailed me personally to check on my progress until the dental part was completed. On follow up, Dr. H. scoped my nostril, the infection had cleared and he gave me excelkwnt advice to keep my sinuses healthy. He is kind, he listens, he doesn't rush you out, he is very knowledgeable!

Avoid! Dr. Steven A. Hemmerdinger was fine in person; however, I was billed more than $1,400 for a nasal endoscopy, a procedure I have had multiple times in the past that never cost more than a small fraction of what he charged. It was coded as "endoscopy," not "nasal endoscopy;" the American Rhinologic Society website lists a specific code for "nasal endoscopy." As of this writing, I have called the billing organization, WMCHealth Physicians, three times; the first two representatives indicated that the procedure seemed to be miscoded; the third said a review said it was properly coded, and said (as a prior representative also had) that Dr. Hemmerdinger's office would call me. I have not heard from his office at all in the month and a half that I have been calling about this. Prevent the hassle, save your medical dollars; visit a different ENT doctor.

Not personale at all. Very serious and not helpful. It was so awkward with him that I couldn't help but laugh and he kept pressing me for laughing and was not happy with me. Super weird. Im sure hes very smart but I would not recommend based on personality.

I appreciate dr. Hemmerdinger's knowledge, expertise, skills and practicality. I had my septoplasty and inferior turbinectomy with him and results are very satisfying for me, my breathing improved significantly and my snoring is much less now. Definitely would recommend him to any of my family and friends if an ENT surgeon is needed.

Just saw him. What a horrible doctor. Rude, dismissive and not personable at all. No sense of humor and acts like you're wasting his time. Not kind or professional. Wasted my time and a $50 co-pay for a barely five or ten minute visit to be told that nothing could be done for me except to check if I had any hearing loss. He wasn't even nice about it. When I questioned things for clarity, he almost seemed defensive. Then he just said what he had to say to me and abruptly walked out of the room. No goodbye, nice to meet you or sorry I couldn't help you. He really shouldn't be a doctor since he doesn't know how to treat people. I guess the ones that gave him a good review caught him on a good day. Meh.

I had a great experience with Dr. Hemmerdinger. He is a wonderful doctor. He does truly care about his patients. He took the time out to really explain to me about what was happening with my ear. He was very thorough in his examination and recommendations as to what treatment I need. I would definitely recommend him.

I brought my wife in to see Dr. Hemmerdinger. We saw him in the Pomona office. I was very impressed with his office. His staff was nice and very friendly. His assistant was very nice and welcoming. Dr. Hemmerdinger was caring and very polite. I read some of these negative reviews at first I was hesitant to see him, but glad I did. I give him and his staff 10 stars!!!

He's a horrible, inconsiderate and uncaring doctor that I wish I never came in contact with. He didn't really care to hear what I had to say about my injury that happened to my nose. And when he was done talking to me he just went and sat down at his computer. I asked if I needed any paper work to bring out to the front and he didn't even look at me when he said no you're good. RUDE!!!

The absolute worst. This man has terrible people skills and acts as if you are a nuisance instead of a patient with legitimate concerns. If there is another doctor in your network that you can go see, I recommend you do that. Do not waste your time, energy or money seeing this man.

I have seen Dr. Hemmerdinger in his Poughkeepsie office. After seeing a few other ENT doctors, I went to him. He was able to tell me what is going on with my throat and how to treat it at my first visit. He used a poster on the wall to explain and show me what is happening. He took his time with me and spoke so I would understand. I would highly recommend Dr. Hemmerdinger.

I made an appointment and was able to be seen the next day. I had years of sinus problems and surgery in the past. Dr Hemmerdinger was the first to tell me the underlying reason for my problem. He allowed me to voice all of my questions and concerns. So far he has been right with his diagnosis and treatment. He has always called me back on the same day.

My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Hemmerdinger in his Poughkeepsie office. He knew exactly what she needed to feel better. He explained what to expect for her surgery in detail. He made us feel very comfortable and know that our daughter was getting the best care possible.

Has treated me for various ENT issues & operated on me (thyroidectomy).I find him a very nice person & outstanding physician & surgeon. He was the first doctor to correctly diagnose my thyroid problem, which had gone undetected for decades. I was apprehensive about the surgery needed to correct it, but he guided me through it with understanding & kindness, explained everything clearly & thoroughly & very patiently answered all my questions & concerns. Surgery went perfectly, excellent followup!

The facility practice is nice .However this Dr.has very poor patients skills. I happen to be in medicine ,and I know people say skills matter and Dr personalities do not,but not so to me. It should be a holistic experience. He hardly spoke ,never cracked a smile and did not explain a painful procedure.I guess he was competent enough but it was a simple procedure, yet painful . Note to Dr.. There are lots of other ENTs in Westchester.....a connection to your patients is key.
