We strive to keep reviews honest, trustworthy, and fair.

All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

We have found Dr. Heitner to be inaccessible by telephone and appointments. He only sees patients one day per week, and his appointment calendar is easily log jammed for several months. A nurse coordinator does most of his communication with patients; and this is not an optimal way to treat patients. He will only consult with a patient about their needs sporadically. Definitely a hands-off doctor. Can not recommend his services in good conscience. Various family & friends initially recommended him, but he has fallen out of their good graces too. Very unfortunate.

If you have HCM I would urge you to visit Dr. Heitner - period. Great cardiologist who diagnosed and treated the issues that I have after others could not - and I have had the opportunity to be treated at Emory in Atlanta and the UW in Seattle. Can be tough to get an appointment unless it's urgent but other than that no complaints. He a good physician with an excellent staff.

Dr Heitner is a cardiologist at OHSU. He took a "do no harm" risk adverse approach to the arterial blockage in my heart. We are treating with benign medications that may reverse the blockage. I like this option better than implanting a stent and blood thinners with the risk of redeveloping a blockage. He is the first doctor to recommend Ubiquinol to avoid side effects of statins (works for me). He is very busy. His staff is excellent in supporting the treatment plan that he established.

An outstanding physician. Listens carefully and respectfully, explains options and potential tradeoffs clearly, incorporates patient's emotional well-being into decision making. His office is unbelievably responsive to questions and appointment needs. One of the best doctors I have ever been treated by.
