Dr.Gall, Not God
He replaced a heart valve on my children’s father, when the valve failed he refused to do another surgery even though that meant my 34year old children’s dad would die. He is a father of 6 kids, with a huge family who love him dearly and even though we all begged and pleaded with the dr to do the surgery again he refused because of the risk that came along with the 2nd surgery. He Was more worried about his stats than saving a life. He recommended a 34 yr old, otherwise healthy father sign up on hospice and go home and wait to die. He even made sure to tell us that NO OTHER surgeon in this area would go against his advice since he was the one who done the first surgery. He was rude, arrogant, judgement and seemed like he got pleasure out of holding all the power! My children are trying to spend as much time as possible with their dad right now, they are aware he is dying and there is nothing that can be done. Dr.Gall is an egotistical maniac with a god complex!

Excellent surgeon, Post care non-existent
Pre-surgery Dr. Gall was excellent to explain problem and options. Excellent surgeon. Post-surgery care was non-existent. Discharge directions stated to contact heart center directly if any problems. I began having breathing problems and reached out only to be told Dr. Gall was unavailable or traveling or he would see me in 3 weeks appt. It was apparent post-surgery problems are ignored or not taken seriously. Why wasn’t my inability to breathe important? Regular physician found I had fluid in both cavities and ended up back in hospital. Once home, more fluid reported to Dr. Gall with same result (see you at appt). Having fluid in your cavity is painful. There was no care or concern for my well-being. In summary, as a surgeon, Dr. Gall is the best and would highly recommend. But be aware if you have problems or concerns afterwards, they may not be addressed. But then, as I was told, you can always go to the emergency room. Heart center, this is not acceptable.

Saved my life.
Dr. Gall saved my life. He and his team were attentive, knowledgeable, caring, and informative. Dr. Gall himself was direct and to the point. Very business like. I needed the best surgeon, not a stand-up comic. Again, he and his team, along with the Holston Valley ICU and stepdown unit saved my life. I wish i could thanks him again and again.

Consummate skill minutes/seconds count
I didn’t choose Dr. Gall, the ER. Staff at my local hospital did. They had me helicoptered to his hospital where he and his team were ready and waiting. I had NO need for a warm teddybear of a counselor; rather, I needed amazing surgical skill, then and there and Quick. This Dr. Gall provided in spades; still, he took about half a minute to draw out what and where it was happening to me (ascending aortic dissection), and what my chances of survival were. (As it turned out, quite good, thanks to him and the surgical team and the hospital staff.) He/they saved my life with absolutely no further complications.‘Nuff said.

He was very RUDE and made a comment that my family member would not pay for their bill and that he was doing the surgery for free. If I could give him a negative review I would. Also going to report him to the hospital.

I found he talked about the surgery but did not inform us of the problems during the surgery. My dad was 55 and the life support was pulled, too soon and he was brought back. My dad was a husband, dad, grandfather. He assured us he would be fine, after seven days being in pain, cut all the way and draining tube. He was moved to hospice and we had to watch a honorable man die. It was so hard on children, and he has a grandson. I would research Stanley Gall he has a medical malpractice history.

Dr. Gall is an excellent and highly skilled surgeon. He literally saved my life when he replaced my mitral valve with a titanium valve in 2011, My valve was destroyed by endocarditis. I would not be here today if he hadn't operated when he did. He was also wonderful with my family. He explained everything so they could understand the complexities of my illness and the surgery, Again, he saved my life and I will be forever grateful.
