Dr. Shiv Desai, MD

Dr Desai spent a lot of time explaining the course of action forward. He was reassuring but honest about my condition, I felt he really cared. A great doctor!

Dr Desai is extremely thorough, very compassionate and I feel he has my utmost well being in mind at all time. Appointments are never rushed and he explains everything in detail.

He goes above and beyond to help Patients. Combined with Superb medical staff care, he is deep into disease investigation. If you are in Austin, must see GI doctor.

Dr. Desai has taken care of me since the very beginning of an end stage cancer diagnosis. He is extremely skillful and has gone above and beyond. Cannot recommend Dr. Desai enough.

My visit with Dr. Desai was absolutely pleasant. Dr. Desai is quick to listen to your concerns, not rushing his time with you and full of knowledge in his practice. Dr. Desai is the go to doctor if you’re looking for a gastroenterologist. I can’t say it enough he’s a wealth of knowledge. His bedside manner can’t be beat. He’s throughly, professional and has a great sense of humor. Best in the state of Texas!

I have severe Crohns and unfortunately I’ve had to see a lot of doctors over the years- but I’ve learned how to tell who the good ones are. Dr Desai is one of them- he listens to what is going on, actually cares, is receptive to my opinions and experiences, thinks outside of the box and always has a plan for me just in case what we are doing stops working. I’m so grateful I found him and his team. They have been instrumental in keeping me healthy and out of the hospital (which is no small feat!)

Dr Desai listened carefully, answered my questions and gave me good direction and follow up.

Dr Desai and Austin Gastroenterological group gave me extra years of quality life. I arrived at an ER mustard colored and with dangerously low blood pressure. Dr. Desai spent several months administering procedures that brought my organs back to normal working order. Furthermore, he checked everywhere for signs of cancer. I like that he is very courteous and kind, but lets the patient know if concerns he has. He always follows through with the patient about his concerns. I consider him to be a masterful doctor who excels in his knowledge of gastroenterological systems.

With medical intervention, research, care and their weighing many decisions related to my well being, I can say I most likely owe my life and certainly owe my health and happiness today to my work with Dr. Desai and his team of compassionate, thoughtful and very upbeat medical professionals. I survived a truly frightening time in my life with the support of this group and appreciate them whenever given the opportunity to do so.

I have been to alot of doctors he made me feel like he real cared. An wasn't just a number. He is getting me on the right track I believe an do anything he ask .the people in is office are all great.dont use anyone but him believe me. You will love him thanks doc for everything you an your staff has done for me

Dr. Desai is personable and put me right at ease. Records were reviewed and a plan discussed to get my health in better shape.

My husband was incredibly ill and we didn't know what was going on. Dr. Desai was calm and helpful and asked for all the correct tests to help him. He called us with the results as soon as he had them, which sped up the process of his healing. I don't know what we would have done if he wasn't so calm and helpful and clear in what all the steps were, which all sped up his recovery time. Highly recommend Dr. Desai, he knows his stuff, answered our questions and explained everything to us.

I like Dr. Desia. He has done a colonoscopy for me and is getting ready to do another one for me. He is very personable and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Desia explains everything to you so you know what he is going to do. He has a great bedside manner which you don’t find a lot of with Drs. today. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed a gastroenterologist. Dr. Desia is very specialized in removing polops. He is very good at what he does.

The office laid out the procedure well. The Dr. was thorough in his explanation. The only thing the I didn’t like was that what the Dr. told me is different than what tje office told me

Dr. Desai explained in great detail what his thoughts were for my husband's plan of care. He explained what the procedure would entail and the risks associated with it. We were scheduled quickly. When the procedure was completed, Dr. Desai came and explained what he had found during the procedure. We were always given the opportunity to ask questions and Dr. Desai explained the answers to our questions in detail. He was very personable and professional. .

Condescending and rude. Nothing worse than a doctor who makes you feel like a number and doesn't care to listen on explain.

I found him to be very personable and willing to explain what he needed to do. He visited the day after my surgery and spent a significant amount of time answering all of my questions.

Should find a new occupation. Doesn't care to listen. For such a young doctor he really needs a dose of humility.
