Dr. Shanthi Gowrinathan, MD

She did not send my perscriptions in to pharmacy--always 2 weeks late. I had to keep calling and calling for my perscriptions and for an appointment. No one would get back to me. She blamed it on me that my perscriptions like cholosteral were not sent out each month to phamacy. She did not help me as her client. I did not feel respected or cared for as her patient. When I was in the hospital she showed up so the surgeon could see she was taking care of her patient and be impressed. She never apologized. I stayed with her for almost 8 months and often I would cry, it was very difficult. I left last year for Doctors that are professional and timely sent medicine. She was a kind women but she doesn't take care of her patients! She has too many patients and her office doesn't get back to you and no one answers her phone. A nice person...stayed longer because I thought it would change but it got worse. I suggest you find a Doctor who has your interest and wants you to be taken care of! It was the only Doctor in my life that I had an experience like this...and I pray the last.

Was the worst experience. Office unfriendly, never had prescription sent to my pharmacy on time- two weeks late. I had to keep calling her office and they would never get back to me. She did not return her emails. She would cancel her appointments last minute after waiting weeks to get fit in. She was a lovely person but not professional. If you need help RUN to a true professional!

Long story short. Dr. Goerinathan seems nice, but she was 20 min late for our first appointment, then failed to follow through on her own plan for follow up appointments. No communication from her office, no returned messages either online or via phone. It's like she just vanished.

Dr. Gowrinathan is FANTASTIC! She totally gets it, cuts to the chase, and has a vast knowledge of various specialties to help come up with the perfect treatment plan. As we all know these things can take some time, and some tweaking, and Dr. G is really great at thinking ‘outside the box’ and coming up with solutions that are so helpful, and I don’t believe many other doctors would or could do the same. I consider myself EXTREMELY fortunate to call her my doctor. (And to the individual that left a poor review, I think you must have mistaken her for someone else.)

Dr. Gowrinathan gets it. She knows how to listen, she is incredibly empathetic, and her knowledge of cancer treatments and related psychiatric issues is unreal. She is the best thing that happened to me during my treatment at Cedars. She is one in a million

Unethical and incompetent.

Dr. Gowrinathan is excellent. She listens very closely and has a wonderful memory. She is always on time for appointments and I never have had to wait. To date, she has been spot on with all recommendations.. She is very down to earth and makes you feel at ease. I recommend her to everyone. She will make accommodations to get you in right away if necessary.

She is one of the best doctors I have ever been to and as a cancer survivor, I have seen many. She is brilliant, thorough, understanding, and available. My mother, who is a doctor in psychology is thoroughly impressed with her knowledge and bedside manner. She even came to see me on a recent hospital visit (that had nothing to do with our work together) and really helped me with pain issues when none of the other doctors or nurses were able to. Can't recommend her enough!

I was running 10 minutes late for an appointment and called to let them know. When I informed her office, they said it would be fine. I checked in 10 minutes late. I then waited for 2 hours until a nurse came to inform me that because I was late, the doctor left. I waited for 2 hours for someone to tell me that she had left. I found this outrageously unprofessional and her lack of regard for a patient seeking help with the mental consequences of dealing with cancer unacceptable.
