Dr. Shani Fruchter, MD

Dr.Fruchter did a double mastectomy on me. When I met her the first time for a consultation she was warm & explained everything to me. At the end of our conversation she asked me if I had any questions for her I got the impression that if I asked her 10 questions she would have answered each one. What a caring Dr she s so happy that she did my surgery. I would highly recommend Dr.Fruchter.

Dr. Fruchter performed my emergency surgery on a Saturday night in Rhinebeck, NY. Before starting, she explained what had gone wrong with my intestines, what the surgery would entail, and what I could expect afterward. The next day, before leaving to head back to NYC she came into my room to tell me me what happened during the surgery and then gave me instructions on what I needed to do to best support my healing. Today, I'm 8.5 weeks post surgery and feeling pretty darned good...back to my daily walks, yoga practice, and vacuuming! Thanks sooooo much, Dr. Fruchter!

Completed during a hospitalization. Minimal recovery time, minimal scarring and saw me in-person for my follow up appointment. Offered advice on how to re-engage with fitness following abdominal surgery. Overall very friendly and kind demeanor.

This surgeon removed my gallbladder without ever meeting me. I had extreme pain following the surgery which was treated with narcotics. However, I never met her other than over the phone. Her follow up consisted of a phone call before I was released from hospital and then multiple phone calls afterwards were left unanswered. My pain became so bad I returned to the ER in the middle of a pandemic. Nonstop diarrhea. I lost 26 pounds in the month following the surgery. Called again and again without a response. Met with a gastroenterologist who said that diarrhea is an expected complication from the surgery. I was never told to look out for this. I could not eat for a month without you diarrhea. Thank God I found a gastroenterologist who could see me (those appointments usually take months to get). RUN, don’t walk… in the other direction. Horrible and unprofessional. Never again.
