Very Disappointing
I had mesh removal surgery with Dr. Jacob a few years ago, and despite discussing a plan to remove the mesh, repair my incision, remove lipomas, and address abdominal wall defects including diastasis recti, none of these issues (other then mesh being removed) were addressed during the procedure. Postoperative care felt vague, reactive, and unsupported, with no structured follow-up or transparency. The operative report was only created after I requested it, and earlier visits were never documented, while note-taking suddenly became consistent only after I raised concerns. There was a clear sense of dishonesty right after surgery. I don't recommend him or Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Excellent
I am less than a full month post op and it's as if I've never had surgery (in a good way.) Nothing hurts, everything has healed beautifully, and my ailment seems to have been fixed by Dr.Jacob. From the first appointment, to his responsiveness, all the way through to the surgery, he was simply 100% wonderful, kind, professional and highly skilled. He is worth the $$$$.

Double hernia surgery performed on me, 4/10/21 in Manhattan. I'm 64, otherwise healthy. I CHOSE Dr. Jacob because he had the most PRIZES/AWARDS in all of New York City, from USA Today, Castle Connolly, 2014-2021 inclusive, every award I could find, so I trusted him the most. The surgery was done perfectly, and one of bi-lateral groin hernias was a 'big one', requiring more work by the surgeon. BELIEVE ME, having a surgeon who has simply DONE more of these, and successfully, gives you the confidence to make the choice of this surgeon. And I ADD MY VOICE to many of the others in town, who have chosen DR. BRIAN JACOB for probably being the best Hernia Surgeon in the tri-State area. Great personality, caring bedside manner, but most importantly, HIGH HIGH EXPERTISE in performing this all-important surgery, when a hernia develops. FIVE STARS ***** and my highest recommendation.

I recently had a diasthasis recti repair and hernia removal with Dr. Jacob and cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience. I am incredibly happy with my result. From the consultation to the surgery to the aftercare, Dr. Jacob was incredibly thoughtful and thorough. 5 stars doesn't seem like enough!

Brian Jacob performed a highly successful laparoscopic surgery on my husband's dangerous hiatal hernia. He is the most talented, skilled, and compassionate doctor I've ever met. He stands above all other physicians in my personal experience and professional interactions as a psychologist. I am eternally grateful for his expert care.
