Pain Relief
I came to Dr. Adam Wegner after being referred by Dr. Peter Yeh (a excellent pain management doctor who is also with OrthoVirginia). Dr. Wegner patiently listened to my history and answered my questions. I tried everything else I could, including 5 months of PT, numerous epidural injections, and lots of different pain medications. Finally, Dr. Wegner explained the surgical option and didn't pressure me to go with surgery, as I was apprehensive and hopeful something else would help eventually. However, nothing was helping and I decided not to be on pain medications any longer. I also sought the advice of a neurosurgeon, as someone I know went that route. I wasn't comfortable with the neurosurgeon and his approach. Therefore, I went back to Dr. Wegner and we made the decision to proceed with lumbar surgery.I am so glad I chose Dr. Wegner and his team as well as went through with the surgery! I felt immediate relief from my bilateral glute pain as well as my sciatic nerve pain.

Dr.Wegner is such a wonderful surgeon
Dr. Wegner is a skilled and profess professional surgeon, and a compassionate and caring doctor. He explained the complicated procedure I needed and gave me every opportunity to ask questions and to make an informed decision about my surgery. Dr. Wegner rebuilt my lumbar spine and made it possible for me to stand upright for the first time in several years. I will always be grateful for his incredible skill, kindness and exceptional care.

9 hour surgery, Dr. Wegner changed my life
From the moment I was referred to him, Dr. Wegner was helpful, detailed, and continually willing to go above and beyond to insure I received top care. From reaching out personally to check-in with me, to consulting with other professionals to insure that my unique case was getting the best of the best.I had an unusual set of severe spinal issues, which resulted in the need for a unique and intense surgery. With my condition being atypical, he took extra time to talk through what it meant, the risks, and to attentively answer all of my questions, making me feel as confident as possible about my choice to go forward with surgery.I was 28 and having massive spinal surgery: I was nervous and there was a lot of risk for things to not go right. After a 9 hour surgery, Dr. Wegner has changed my life. I didn't think I'd ever feel this pain free, or be able to do many physical activities. I'm so grateful for his expertise.

Phenomenal Doctor - deserves more stars
He is fantastic. I had been suffering with lower back pain for 7 months. The spine doctor I had been seeing had given me two diagnostic steroid shots in my sacroiliac. But, with two quick x-rays, Dr. Wegner nailed the diagnosis, which the lumber MRI, I had before seeing him, did not capture. Wish I had an appointment with him sooner. Not just super smart, but wonderful bedside manner. And he didn't reach for the door handle to end the appointment, like many orthopedics. He spent plenty of time with me. I did not feel rushed. Office staff is also lovely.

Spinal Surgery - Dr. Wegner provided detailed explanation of the pre-surgery and post-surgery details and instructions. He was also an excellent listener and provided answers that a layman could understand.

Thorough and faring
Dr. Wegner took the time to explain anything that my husband or I asked of him. He was very kind, patient, and had a fun sense of humor. I look forward to having the surgery done to alleviate some of the pain that I am experiencing from a well qualified doctor.

Flawless is an Understatement!!
To say that my care from Dr. Wegner has been flawless, that would be an understatement. There are a lot of physicians to choose from out there and that’s even more of a reason that I am beyond blessed to have found a provider that is such a perfect fit for me. Due to my mental health, physical health, economic status -homelessness- and my personal background, finding a provider has proven to be challenging -to say the least-. Not only has Dr. Webber been kind, considerate, empathetic, understanding, knowledgeable, ATTENTIVE, extremely responsive -like same day messaging- and genuinely concerned, but he has also enabled me to feel as if I am a human that deserves top notch care. My self esteem and insecurities from being judged by health care providers, has in the past, prevented me from getting the care that I needed. Dr. Wegner makes me feel So safe and he provides me with the very lBEST care. I know that he has my health and my future as a priority and Im not just a statistic to him

Disappointing.
I got injured during my chiropractic spinal adjustment which aggravated my chronic musculoskeletal pain and caused excruciating shooting thoracolumbar pain attacks that radiated to the right rib cage with deep breathing or any movement. As a medical massage therapist with over 12 years of clinical experience, I know the value of the adequate and thorough evaluation to provide the patient with accurate diagnosis and therapy. Unfortunately, none of the necessary orthopedic tests have been performed. The entire evaluation was very superficial and I was told that I was not a candidate for a surgery. Actually, I was not seeking a surgical option but being referred to an orthopedic doctor I was hoping to get professional assistance with finding the reason for my health condition and recommendation on further rehabilitation therapy. Right after the visit, I requested the "after visit notes" and found multiple errors. I had to speak with the practice manager and have them edit the records.

Arrogant impatient
It took an hour to fill out lengthy forms that clearly nobody looked at before seeing us. We waited an hour more to see the doctor after the assistant did the intake. Then the doctor arrives, impatient from the outset. He treated my 70-year old sister, struggling with debilitating back pain, with so much contempt that it verged on cruelty: “Why are you walking like that? Why are you dragging your right foot?” In such an angry tone it was appalling to witness. And he writes on his site that he has compassion and treats patients like members of his own family. That’s all empty words. Avoid this man.

I think Dr. Wegner genuinely cares about his patients. He has an awesome bedside manner. He and Dr. Daubert performed my surgery (very complicated surgery). I am still post operative so I do not know the outcome of the surgery yet, but I feel that he did the best he could for my condition. Would definitely recommend him to a friend.
