At intake, I gave Dr. Chappin an administrative law judge's decision confiming my mental disability on behalf of the Social Security Administration, which he promptly set aside unread. Instead, he asked only yes and no questions, clearly not undertaking a formal diagnostic evaluation. I showed him all my medication vials, but he said he would not make any changes. However, not only did he fail to record them in my medical chart, but also he never ordered refills at my pharmacy. Moreover, when we went to make a second appointment, he dismissively referred me to a physician assistant without explanation. He also claimed that Pinnacle did not take my insurance for therapy even though his intake for medication management was later covered. Abrupt, rushed, and careless. Exam lasted only 15 minutes, but billed to Medicare for 45 minutes. I subsequently complained to Livanta, Medicare's Quality of Care Department, which found him negligent.

Terrible bedside manner. He sighed and gave rushed answers to my questions, and seemed irritated to be on a call with me at all. Not someone I want to "help" me with mental health.

Excellent Dr
He has prescribed medication that actually works. I have bipolar, anxiety, ptsd, adhd, etc ive tried a lot of medication & different facilities. He’s a psychiatrist not a counselor. I dont get peoples reviews. His job is to prescribe medication not give u therapy….his sessions are short but he is to the point and blunt which i like. He is thorough on follow ups regarding meds and making sure they are still working and make sure they dont need dosage tweeking. Ive done a lot of my own research by taking psychology courses in undergrad to understand my mental health issues. I feel people rely on psychiatrist & therapists to point of being a crunch…you gotta put in work on your end and understand what the persons job is that your seeing but still do your own work on your health. My opinion. I like Dr. Chappin alot. Hes personally my cup of tea. Medication is working so well that for once i dont ever want to go off treatment again.

Awful. He is in the wrong field. There is no way he should be working with people. He has a short temper, a bad attitude and brings about a feeling of unease. Would not recommend.

dr chappin is rude, short with his patients and makes no effort to make a connection. he only $ee$ money when he gets a patient. the only reason Pinnacle hired him was his large client base (confirmed by staff). this man does not seek to help his patients. this man should not be in mental health therapy

Dr. Chappin was rude from the start. He rushed through my appointment in 10 minutes. It felt like an interrogation — he sped through his list of questions and seemed to care less about the actual answers. He made judgemental faces in response to answers. At the end, he said, “While I won’t be prescribing you anything today...” — I was abhorred he would even consider prescribing me something, given he only spent 10 minutes with me and we didn’t discuss anything meaningful. Truly awful experience.

feels like he just cares about the money. doesn't really listen to his patients. 15 minute appointments only. does not fill out paperwork because he couldn't care less. makes you feel like you are stupid for asking questions. rushes through appointments.
