Wasn’t helpful for my stroke
Scott Rome has statements and signatures in at least two handouts for stroke patients I’ve read. It would seem he would be qualified in understanding and treating stroke issues. This is not my experience. First visit, I recall him standing in front of his desk with his arms crossed, seeming impatient because I couldn’t quickly and clearly articulate all the body problems the stroke has had on me. I felt belittled. Ableism at its finest. He sent me to a “pain specialist” for some nasty stroke subluxation, but I found out later that Rome told the other doctor it was for “arthritis”!!! This mistake was used by my insurer to deny continuing my stroke disability. The pain doc had to fix it.Rome made a promise to me for specific rehab, but when I called to follow up he said he wasn’t going to do it. I don’t know if he is just passive-aggressive or simply forgetful, but I dumped him and now have a fantastic physiatrist, probably one of the best in the area. But I lost a year at Rome.

Threw away my referrall
I felt bad for missing my appointment and was lectured twice. But they threw away my referral because I wasted their time. I apologized several times and finally after feeling like crying, I said I would find someone else. It was my fault for missing, but maybe allow a person one mistake before making them feel like crap.
