Terrible Doctor
My sister was seen by her over 12 years ago when diagnosed with breast cancer. She continued to see her for this entire time. Told her she was doing great and that she would only need to see her once a year instead of twice. Only to find out a few months ago that she now has another form of cancer but stage 4 this time and that nothing could be done. No compassion, just said “sorry, go home and enjoy what you have left.” How does someone miss a stage4 cancer when being seen by your original oncologist and following all follow up appointments for over 12 years. Keep your loved ones away from this person.

Can't get an appointment, no one let's you know
She received referral from pcp who did a lousy job citing only one symtom. She refused to see me, and no one let me know. I saw her in 2019 for MUGUS, THE symptoms I now have are like Multiple Myeloma. One would think she would remember that she saw me for MUGUS, and would consider seeing me. Can't get in touch with new patient coordinator even after calling g several times since June 16th. Held the phone for an hour, as the ladies who answer the phone Tried over 12 times to reach them, sent many messages to them, still no response. This doctor nor office deserves a 1 not a 2.9!!!!!!

Please believe the low reviews. They are very similar to my experience. Dr Waghela was assigned to me because I was admitted to the hospital at Mansfield Methodist hospital. I had several swollen lymph nodes. She immediately said it looks like I have lymphoma. She never listened to my mom or myself as to why the lymph nodes may be swollen and continued to say "No it's Lymphoma". I then had a biopsy and Dr. Waghela refused to release me from the hospital until my biopsy results came in so I could start treatment immediately once the results came in. Again diagnosing me with Lymphoma without any results. Ultimately I had to let her and the hospital know that I do not want her as my oncologist. That was the only way I was able to be released. I got my biopsy results a week later and they were NEGATIVE for any traces of cancer and my swollen lymph nodes were due to an infection. Please stay clear from this woman. She does not care for patients and is only out for money or her own personal gain. If she diagnoses you with anything please get a second opinion!

Great Doctor
She’s been my doctor for over a year now in my treatment of stage4 colon cancer. She has been perfect for me! Tells you the truth even though it may be hard to hear but you need to hear it! Always a step ahead on testing for option if needed for what’s next in the treatment needs. Always willing to answer questions and if she doesn’t have the answer she tells you. Doesn’t just make something up and find the answer for you! I highly recommend her!

Lacks Compassion
Communication and sympathy are not her strong point to say the least. When she tries to discuss test results with you, she barely lets lets you get a word in. She may need to either find a new line of work of take some sensitivity training. I am glad I sought a second opinion after I left Mansfield Methodist. My current oncologist is awesome. I would not recommend her to ANYONE.

Personal commitment to me as her patient
I felt that this doctor is in it for the money. She doesn't show compassion for me as her patient and neither does her staff. When I needed personal attention due to my health issues and financial issues during and after Chemo I felt like no one in her office cared about me as a patient including the doctor and her entire staff. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone I care for due to her poor bedside manners as well.

The first appointment I had with Dr. Waghela changed my fear into hope. She has offered a unique calming effect with assurance that the facility treats each patient individually. Each time that I met with her, she spoke knowledgeable about the type cancer I had and with assurance to keep my thoughts and feelings in mind as we go through this together. I have a lot of faith in Dr. Waghela.

Dr. Waghela has been my primary Physician in my fight with breast cancer. I see her often and am always appreciative of her knowledge, professionalism and honesty. She fights hard with me while making sure I know exactly what is happening with this disease...good or bad. I chose her for that reason. You can't make good decisions if you don't have all of the information. I'm thankful she's my Oncologist. Plus I love the office team!! They've become a bright spot in hell!

I was under Dr Waghela's care after colon cancer surgery & an infection that I contracted at the hospital. My body was septic. I was told that I did not need chemotherapy. She did bloodwork every three months & monitored my markers. My marker rose every three months. The last marker was 5.0. I was not given any scans. After that, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my psoas muscle the size of a baseball. i chose another oncologist for treatment. I would not recommend Dr Waghela to anyone.

If you go to MD Anderson in Houston for a second opinion, weigh their diagnosis and suggestions heavily. If we had to do it all over again, we would have made different decisions. My wife might have died either way, eventually, but I/we believed that had we made different decisions, she would not have been taken so quickly. :-(

Held onto my grandmother's test results for 6 months and then did not talk about them at her appt. When she got home, she saw that her CEA score was high (a 9.) She had to call back to be told that she needs to go for a PET scan. All Dr. Waghela wanted to do at the appt was argue that my grandmother doesn't have diabetes...which she does. An oncologist is in charge of CANCER TESTING, not arguing with an 80 year old about a condition she's had for years that isn't even the Dr's area of specialty.

If you want a doctor of doom and gloom working with you on probably the most important health issues of your life, you can visit this doctor. I believe one's main focus as a doctor, particularly an oncologist is to give hope to your patients not tell them worst case scenarios of their life. The skill it takes to treat the patient and not just the cancer is just not one she has.
