Dr. Santi Pattara, MD

Dr. Pattara is the type of person that will tell you the truth and will not sugar coat it. That is what I LOVE about him. From day one, he has told me like it is. In my experience of over 20 years off and on, he absolutely DOES CARE AND EXPRESSES HIS CONCERN OFTEN. He is always willing to try new medications, always understands when I don’t like a med and want it changed, accommodating to my needs on what medication works or not and tells me bluntly what I am doing is wrong or needs attention. I feel if you are a person that needs kid gloves on when people speak to you then don’t go here. This is a successful man, who against all odds and where he was born, became an educated successful businessman and doctor. I like honesty and I value that quality in Dr. Pattara. He is great, funny, smart and I am grateful he is still around!

Dr. Pattara was one of the worst psychiatrists I have ever seen. He constantly interrupts and does not actually hear anything you tell him. Once, he asked whether my medications were helping my bipolar disorder...I don't have bipolar disorder. His office hours are literally 9am-12pm M-F, which makes it impossible to schedule anything if you work a 9-5 job. He is not compassionate or friendly, and needs to retire immediately.

All the reviews above are true. He was so rude. He has absolutely no compassion. He didn’t listen to what I had to say. I told him that I was misdiagnosed years ago & while I was on those medications, I felt even worse. He didn’t even hear me. He told me that we need to raise those same medications. Later I tried to explain again & he got angry with me. Demanded to know why I didn’t trust him. Out of nowhere. I left in tears too. He only cares about money, doesn’t care about his patients.

I strongly would not recommend this doctor to anybody. He doesn't truly care about anybody, but money. He is evil, despicable, and disgusting! He spends little time trying to help you. He doesn't answer questions in a professional and thorough manner and he always displays his negative rude behavior. What he does best is prescribe tons of medications and doesn't care how badly they affect you. Also, when you ask to fill out forms, he demands money. He is not worthy of being a doctor!

I would not recommend Dr. Santi to anyone. I came to him a few times and he insisted that I stay on a medicine that I was uncomfortable with. I kept explaining to him that it was affecting me extremely. I changed doctors and feel much better. He would talk to me for less than 5 mins and send me on my way. Please seek real mental health from a professional.

I came in trying to find a new doctor and have really been struggling and he told me "I'm not God, I can't just lay my hands on you and fix you"- I left the office in tears and really was hoping to find a doctor that had some compassion, especially for mental health issues. I was offered no relief and in the middle of my apt he told another patient he'd be right there in just a minute. I could not have felt more insignificant, which is terrible for a mental health professional to act like that
