Dr. Sante Bologna, MD

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Bologna. During a phone call, the doctor spoke in an unprofessional and rude manner, which made me feel disrespected and unheard. As a patient, I expect clear communication, empathy, and professionalism, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Healthcare should be about trust and care, and this interaction left me questioning both. I hope this feedback encourages better patient communication in the future.

This doctor is horrible. He will not treat you nicely. He just want to collect money from you with wrong test and diagnosis. AVOID.

This doctor forgot to call and then after 1 hr 30 mins he calls and upon asking why so late he is saying me ridiculous. He has no courtesy to say sorry. AVOID him. High attitude and treats patient like trash.

I was seeing Sante Bologna for Colitis. I was on Budesinide, a steroid, for three years. I called him repeatedly as I was losing muscle in my arms and legs, my face was swollen. My colitis was unchanged. He insisted he had used Budesinide for years and there were no problems as Budesinide was dissipated in the liver. My primary doctor said I had Cushing’s Syndrone. I called Bologna again and he said it was impossible. I told him I wanted to wean off of budesonide and then asked him again to help me and give me something to get through it. He said OK take three budesonide every morning. I told my primary doctor and she recommended Dr. Gaith. I walked into the office and he said you are one of 3% 3% of people on budesonide cannot dissipate it in their liver.. I went off Budesonide and he put me on Colestipol for my colitis. I am still suffering Cushing’s but my adrenal glands are improving. My colitis is completely under control. Dr. Gaith changed my life.

Bad

I recently took my dad in for an endoscopy due to abdominal distension and gastric issues. His stomach was protruding out significantly for a slender man. After the procedure,Dr Bologna met us in the recovery area, walked in and said, “Good news, no cancer!”. Of course my dad was relieved, however was still looking for answers since he’d been suffering with severe symptoms for weeks. The Dr. told him to take some gas relief medicine and was ready to leave. Not once did he look at my dad’s stomach. Only because of us persisting did he order a gastric emptying study, but did not order any other test or seemed the least bit concern or empathy for his pain. It appeared that he was getting agitated as my dad politely asked him another question. At this point he answered as he turned my back to my dad and simply walked out of the room. We were appalled. Four days later my dad couldn’t handle the pain and went to ER. He ended up getting diagnosed with Stage 4, pancreatic cancer.

we have been trying to figure out what has been causing diarrhea since August 2023. In December 2023 my husband had back surgery and ended up with a terrible bout of C-diff. we called Dr. Bologna’s office and begged for him to call today so we could get advice as to the next steps are and was C-diff the problem all along have been the problem since August. When the doctor finally called the doctor said absolutely not. Take the medicine prescribed by ER who diagnosed the problem and call me back in 10 days if you still have a problem. And then we said it was so hard to get an appointment or to talk to him and then the doctor says “well, you’re talking to me right now! I called you back within 5 hours!” and started repeatedly saying, “what do you want from me!” then hung up on us! All we wanted was advice! he must know that we were under stress but that our constant questions annoyed him.

Dr. bologna so understanding dashed all my fears talk to me so I could understand him definitely would refer him to my friends and family great bedside manner. I’m so glad I went to him for a second opinion. Thank you.

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Bologna and while he wasn't my first choice I'm glad he's who I was scheduled with. He was professional yet kind with a great bedside manner (talked to me like a person!) He was quick and I had no issues! My only recommendation for his office staff is to keep patients informed. They had a delay due to a computer issue and I waited in the room for almost an hour past my scheduled time. I understand that things happen but letting anxious patients know what is happening is important!

When I started seeing Dr. Bologna I had a digestive disorder that other physicians could not pin down. In fact, he informed me early on that my diagnosis would not be simple. He took a very careful and systematic approach to rule out what my disease is not. He encouraged me to visit specialists; together they finally discovered my proper diagnosis. I am not receiving treatments that help me live a much more normal life.

I had a procedure done and I asked specifically what all of my charges would be for the procedure. As I have a high deductible plan, it's important for patients to understand what their responsibility is and only the providers know what their contract are with the insurance company. I was informed of "almost" all of my charges and promptly paid everyone of them. They seem to have left out that I would also be charged a $500 facility fee which was not disclosed. I think he is the greatest I have full trust in Him and His decision that He has made for me over the fifteen years or so I have been with Him I think He has a great connection with His patients at lest for Me always explains everything going on his staff at the center on the second floor are great made me feel comfortable every time I needed to have a procedure done I would highly recommend Him to anyone

He is does not have a good bedside manner. Dr Bologna is cold and spends as little time with his patents as possible. His expensive cloths and nose in the air narcissism turned me off. He did not spend time explaining my health issues with me or the tests results. I would not recommend Dr Bologna for his medical skills and poor communication skills. If you want a fashion show of his Armani wardrobe, beautifully styled hair and manicured nails, as well as fancy office,he is the doctor for you!
