Dr. Russell Novak, MD

Dr Novak repaired an abdominal hernia, about water-mellon size that I'd had for 20 years. He made quick work out of the repair. Minimum pain, scarring was addressed by Dr Novack. Follow up visits were quick, in and out visits. Lots of attention on healing. Dr Novak's staff was as helpful as possible. I'm almost healed now its been 4 weeks. I have nothing but praise for Dr Novak and his staff. I'm feel very lucky to have had Dr Novak do my hernia surgery.

He did my surgery in 1995 and in 2023. He is the best.

Exceptional surgeon who truly cares for his patients. Recent Colon surgery was successful. I was in the best hands.

I just had my gallbladder out with Dr Novak. He’s an excellent surgeon. Explains thoroughly and is personable. A definite win win.

If you have breast cancer and don’t want reconstruction, DO NOT GO WITH DR RUSSELL! He did not listen to what I told him. One surgery, bilateral mastectomies and done! No reconstruction, remain flat chested! I was adamant on 4 occasions speaking with him what I wanted!! Once sedated, Dr Russell did what HE wanted. A skin sparing mastectomies with dog ears. So I could reconstruct down the road IF I changed my mind. Easier for HIM to reconstruct later. Again, do not use Dr Russell, he doesn’t listen or care what YOU want. Don’t walk away, but RUN as fast and skin and tissueas far away as possible and get a second opinion with a breast surgeon or plastic surgeon and NOT a general surgeon if you desire an “aesthetic flat closure” after your mastectomies! I wouldn’t recommend Dr Russell to my worst enemy!! I now require a revision surgery to remove the excess skin and tissue he left after my surgery! I feel nothing but contempt for this man! He gave me flat denial…

This review actually had nothing to do with the doctor. His staff never allowed me to make the appointment. His staff are extremely uncaring and extremely disrespectful. After I called at least a dozen times to set up the appointment, I was told I could make the appointment after the scheduler got back from vacation. Two months later I never received a phone call. I called to try one more time and the scheduler rudely told me she never got the reports she needed to make the appointment. No one ever called me to tell me that. I would have gladly taken care of it had I known. Later that day she called me back and left the rudest message I have ever gotten from a doctor's office. She said "We got your test results, but they were benign. I don't know what you expect us to do for you if your test results are normal". It is not appropriate for a secretary to give me medical advice. There are reasons why someone would need a consultation even if the results are benign.

Amazing Doctor and staff. I just had surgery three weeks ago and could not of been in better hands. The staff is amazing, they are all smiles and upbeat. I feel so comfortable in their hands. If you need a great surgeon do not hesitate in calling Dr Novak!

I admire and trust Dr. Novak. He has personality and connects well with his patients. His office staff is compassionate and very helpful. You could not be in better hands than Dr. Novak.

Dr Novak is a General Surgeon that specializes in women’s breast surgery. Dr Novak takes time to explain and listen to concerns. He is a very caring doctor with awesome bedside manner. His staff is equally as caring. Dr Novak is a 10 in my books.

Being told you have breast cancer on the phone shows a real lack of sensitivity and compassion....shouldn't I have had an appt?maybe he is just toooo busy for such small gestures. Very little time for explanations of procedures, and finally I went to another facility and happy I did.

Left a positive lymph node in my axilla even though the node was imaged on PET and easily felt prior to surgery. Left a positive margin after mastectomy too. He rushed out of room after I told him he missed one. Now I have recurrent cancer. You decide.

Great doctor. Very competent and thorough. As busy as he is he bothered to call me back in the evening to report my biopsy results and check on my condition.

Dr Novak and his entire staff really helped me during a very scary time of my life . My mammogram showed some suspicious calcifications in my left breast, being the negative person I am I thought the worst... however Dr Novak made me feel comfortable , optimistic and he even had me laughing a few times during my office visit. I had surgery the next week and within 48 hours the nurse called and said "I have awesome news!"She was genuinely excited.. "No cancer!" Great Dr with an awesome staff!!??

I was referred to Dr. Novak from a family member. He was WONDERFUL & I would highly recommend him to anyone! Very professional yet down to earth, nice guy! His surgical staff at Cape Surgery Center were equally as great. Two small issues - I experienced a rude attitude on multiple occasions from his receptionist in The Medical Arts Building. I waited 45 minutes+ for both of my scheduled appointments. I would absolutely return to Dr. Novak in the future despite the small issues.

Dr. Novak is the best surgeons I have ever had he explains everything that he is going to do and gives you direct answers to any questions you have. He is very professional and has a great smile. He removed my gallbladder this week and everything went great with very little pain. I would greatly recommend Dr. Novak to do your surgery.
