Gave him an extra star because his support staff is quality. R.D. Laing described the patient provider interaction as similar to prostitution because the patients is not paying for treatment but a relationship. If you can get it for free (insurance) it is ok but if you are paying full boat you can do better elsewhere.

Would give him half a star if I could. Very very rude, acts like he knows everything, talks over people. Doesn't listen. Don't go to this guy.

He was not what I was hoping. Unfortunately I did not get to meet him in person. I think he had an opinion formed in the first 10 minutes of my initial appointment which was only 20 minutes long. Serious. No smile. Usually a first time psychiatrist checks back with you in a week or two. Not a month. Meditation? Being mindful? I am very mindful.

Dr. Sekhon is the most-effective and insightful psychiatrist I have ever met since my diagnosis 15 years ago. Unlike past doctors who are too quick to pull out the prescription pad, he listens, he discusses, and in my case he agreed three medications were not helping and were removed from my daily medication cocktail. I am feeling and thinking like I did 20 years ago. Thank you Dr. Sekhon!

Dr. Sekhon double charged for my first visit, and he refuses to fill prescriptions unless I see him 3x/year. When I was out of a medication that I needed, he refused to refill it unless I saw him again. He had filled a very similar rx just two days before. Nothing had changed and there was no reason for another $350-$700 office visit. Clearly this is a man who cares more about his bottom line than my health. His first obligation is to do no harm; he failed to live up to that.

Dr. Sekhon double-charges for office visits, and expects the patient to pay more than the co-pay required by insurance. For the first visit, he charged $300 for a 45 minute session, plus $400 for a 60 minute office visit. The visit was probably about 45 minutes. It was not 1 hour and 45 minutes long. Follow up visits are charged at $300 for a 25-minute follow up office visit, plus another $300 under a diagnosis code for the same 25 minutes. I would not recommend this doctor.

He is a great doctor - but when it came to filling out my paperwork for disability - he was hesitant / refused ....If he himself is paranoid - how will he treat others whose life is at stake..... The least he could do is explain why he was hesitant or ask me questions to let me know whats wrong with filling the paperwork... this is just ridiculous - if he did not feel I was sick - why did he prescribe the medicine and why does he now refuse to fill the paperwork ????? This is really frustrating

Easy going and has a calming effect which has been good for me. Right next to the John Muir office where my main doctor is.

My experience with Dr. Sekhon has been really good so far. From our very first appointment, he LISTENED. I am an adult ADD patient, diagnosed as an adult, and have had a couple of experiences with Dr's who do not understand (or care to) how it can present in adult patients, and consequently lack in their overall treatment plan. Dr. Sekon has a way offering his professional advice without being condescending. He is calm, kind and supportive. J at the front desk is also very sweet.

Nice person. Explains things and worked with me. He told me stuff I could do instead of just taking more pills. Overall, I had a good experience. The office is very nice. Right next to the BART on Treat.

I had a great experience with Dr. Sekhon. For starters, he was always on time. With my last doctor, I had to wait 30-60 minutes in the waiting room to be seen, so it was a nice change to get seen at my actual appointment time. He has a very calming voice, and he took his time to explain things and answer my questions. He was very knowledgeable about medications and he came up with a treatment plan that finally made me feel like myself again!

Not a pill pusher. I have been seeing Dr. Sekhon for a few months in Fairfield and will be following him to Walnut Creek because he was able to help where so many other doctors did not. I was on a bunch of pills and he got me down to 2 which seems like a miracle.
