Terrible Diagnostician
I visited Sr Vogel 2-3 times because of terrible issues with floaters, flashers and diminishing eye sight that came on very suddenly. I knew something was terribly wrong. His response was always the same … just aging although I was only in my early 60’s. Just ignore it. I relocated and had to see new retina specialist within first week because of new symptoms. New doc was astonished that I had a severe case of posterior uveitis, a rare disease. His priority was to save the vision in that eye. It then spread to my eye right so it’s now systemic and I’m on chemo for at least 2-3 years. Had Dr Vogel caught it at the beginning, I would never be in the situation I’m now in. 46 eye doc visits in 4 years, countless shots and steroids inserted into my eyes, and other very unpleasant things not to mention the chemo side effects. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Vogel. Save yourself. I’m hoping I can save my vision.

After 10 years, I'm out
A technician refracted me (2021) and wrote a new Rx for my glasses. Then Dr. Vogel saw me. After the exam he handed me the Rx. Turned out to be the same Rx he had given me TWO YEARS earlier. I later learned that he had changed the new Rx but didn't refract me to check it, and didn't tell me he had changed it. It was total waste of money. I tried to reach him by phone, through Piedmont's website messaging feature, and even via email to the law office he works with. No replies. A year later (2022) I asked him about this. He said, "I got all your messages. I didn't know what to say." He should have said: "Let me give you an appointment ASAP. I will refract you myself and give you a more suitable Rx." But he never acknowledged his error and never offered to try to correct it. After all the years I had been seeing him, I was astounded that he would be so irresponsible and unprofessional. This convinced me never to return to Dr. Vogel.
