Excellent Physician
Dr. Summerlee took care of my mom for several years! She had GI issues for 20 plus years and numerous doctors just pushed her along and made her feel like there was no hope for healing! Dr. Summerlee took the time to listen to her and ordered Tests to help diagnose and treat her GI Issues! He spent hours with her going over diet recommendations along with medications that would help! I can not say enough about him and am thankful we found him!

Highly Recommend
Dr. Summerlee has great bedside manner in addition to being proficient in his field. He explained my procedure prior to going in the room and wrapped it up explaining my results after my procedure. He followed through with his referral and I received a call the next day getting an appointment. The staff at Intercoastal Surgery Center was just as amazing and kind!

Excellent doctor and staff
Dr. Summerlee is very thorough and spends the time to ensure you understand your condition, as well as his plans for treatment. I have a challenging GI issue, and he has slowly and methodically adjusted my medicine to treat it. It seems that we have finally found a good blend of medicines to allow me a better quality of life. I use their patient portal to communicate often with his office. His nurse Jessica is prompt to reply. I've had no scheduling issues with him.

an hour ago My specialist from Shands Hospital, at the University of Florida moved to another state. She recommended Dr. Summerlee, who did his fellowship at Shands and is now in Lakewood Ranch. Dr. Summerlee was very thorough in his approach to my case. He took the time to learn what my needs were prior to my arrival, which was impressive. We talked during his examination of me and after the exam he developed a comprehensive approach as how to deal with my case. His office staff is professional and caring. I would recommend Dr. Summerlee for anyone looking for an outstanding GI doctor who is on the cutting edge of his field. He is also familiar with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and its impact on the body and specifically the GI tract.

Colonoscopy went well and he fully explained the procedure. He was slow getting back to me with results and sent me for a CEA test, which was denied and I had to pay because ICD code was deemed unnecessary.

I recently moved to Florida four months ago. My biggest concern was who would be my new Physicians. Well I was very blessed to have picked Dr. Robert J. Summerlee as one. He is a fantastic and caring person as well as a great Physician and his staff is identical. At my recent colonoscopy the Dr. and his staff made the procedure a very stress free. I am a new patient of Dr. Summerlee. Was referred to him to have overdue procedures done. I have been in healthcare for more than 25 years and worked with a variety of local Doctors. He is the finest practitioner I have had the good fortune to go to. He is bright, thorough and caring. In addition he has put together a brilliant support team. Have told my patients and family, if you have a gastro problem, he's the one to see.

Dr. Summerlee is truly a wonderful physician! Moving to this area with a serious chronic illness I feel blessed to have found him as my specialist. Each visit I have had with Dr. Summerlee has been exemplary. We all , in an ideal world, seek a Dr. who has expertise & excellent 'bedside manner'. Dr. Summerlee has both......sometimes a rare find. He not only demonstrates superb knowledge, but is an excellent teacher. I have never felt rushed & leave my appt. feeling informed & hopeful !

Dr. Summerlee seemed caring, but I needed a procedure for an infection that I was spiraling downward. I wasn't scheduled for over 2 months away. The office staff was useless. Ended up going to another GI doctor who understood the urgency and how ill I was.

Dr.Rob performed my husbands colonoscopy and the experience/interaction with him was nothing short of excellent. He is very personable and polite. He will do what's best for you as a patient not what cost the most. Definitely will recommend Dr.Summerlee to family and friends!
