Dr. Robert Igwe, MD

Dr. Igwe is an outstanding physician. I highly recommend his clinical ability, scientific acumen, and bedside manner — almost no wait time in the lobby. The staff was thorough and courteous. Dr. Igwe was not rushed, took time to listen, and was generally interested in my case. Making an appointment was very easy. When calling the office a real person answered - no wading through automated computer prompts. The staff was more than competent and terrific. If you need an endocrinologist, pick this doctor.

I called to make sure that doctor Igwe would be capable of helping me manage my thyroid and testosterone disorders. I was told that he could. However, in our first meeting it was clear that he had limited knowledge of testosterone, basically a flawed study from 1941,and not current research starting in 2018 to the present. I've been managing my condition since 1985 and had to educate him by actually bringing him in latest literature to read and review on both thyroid management and testosterone replacement therapy.At least he's listening to me a little, where other doctors were stuck in the past with their feet, and knowledge stuck in antiquated information.He seems to have a lot of patience with diabetes. So I would assume that is his specialty.

I've been a patient of Dr. Igwe for over 10 years and with no reservations whatsoever I would highly recommend him as an endocrinologist. He is patient, thorough and understanding of the fears, doubts and anxieties we face when it comes to our health. The wait time to me is reflective of the personal care and time he gives to each of his patients. For the most part his staff reflects this dedication to their profession and I give them a high five for their service.

Dr Igwe was detailed with his examination and questions. He listened to my answers and concerns. He had all of my medical information and test results from previous doctors and hospital tests with him. He put me at ease. He was very professional and well as his staff.

The doctor was called into consult when I was in R.O. Beaumont. Interestingly none of the other services involved would admit they had brought him in. It was obvious when he first spoke that he had not read any of the information in my file. He did not know I was already on medication. After 5 minutes of setting him straight on history he decided to drop my medication dose from 10 mg 2x/day to 2.5 mg/day. he changed that twice before I ever got any medication although my blood sugar was fine.

What a blessing! He took time during the initial exam to discuss my concerns and questions. He is professional, knowledgeable, patient and has a personality that immediately put me at ease. Within months my thyroid levels were restored to normal. I have recommended Dr. Igwe to family and friends with confidence.
