Dr. Ritu Chitakki, MD

I give her 5 stars as a doctor because the physical exam was the most thorough I’ve ever had, which gave me confidence in her expertise. However, as a personal family doctor, I was hoping for more. She came across as rather cold, asking only the basic questions before quickly moving on. I actually spent more time with the nurse than with her, which left me feeling like the personal connection I was looking for just wasn’t there.

Dr. Chitakki is an amazing physician with a wonderful bedside manner. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and at the same time makes you feel comfortable during the appointment. She takes her time during each appointment and reviews her recommendations, medications being prescribed, and side effects. She takes time to answer all of your questions and you will never feel rushed. Overall amazing physician!

Dr Chitakki has been my primary care doctor for over 10 years. She takes time to listen and assess my concerns, and is happy to answer questions. I like being able to communicate with her via the MyUpDox portal. At the end of every visit, she describes what she's written about the visit so I know what my insurance company will see. She always has a friendly smile and calming demeanor. Her staff works efficiently and is helpful in scheduling appointments and providing paperwork (lab slips, etc.).

My wife and I have been to see Dr. Chitakki for about 15 year. She and her staff have always provided us Excellent service.

Dr. Ritu has been my primary care for 5+ years. She’s warm, friendly and caring. Her appointments are timely and provides the convenience of drawing blood onsite rather than making a separate visit to Labcorp. I will highly recommend her.

Dr. Chitakki has been my doctor for 20 years. I enjoy coming to my appointments because she makes me feel comfortable and puts my mind at ease when talking about any health concerns. I am so sad to be writing this review as I had high hopes for this office, but I feel like I just got robbed. I was charged $241 to go over routine blood work from a physical. I went in May for an initial visit and a physical and everything seemed wonderful. When my blood work came back, the office called me at 9:00 asking me if I would come in to discuss the results. I was free that morning and made it in 30 minutes later for the 9:30 appointment they had. Dr. Chitakki let me know that my cholesterol levels were high and that I should cut back on eating read meat (I am a vegetarian) and to come back for more blood work in 3 months. 2 weeks later comes the bill for $241. I am not sure how something that a) could have been discussed over the phone and b) literally took 10 minutes of her time could cost this much. I have been seeing Dr. Chitakki for over 20 years. I trust her and she has a wonderful bedside manner. She takes the time needed to listen to all of my concerns and only prescribes medicine when absolutely necessary.

Dr. Chitakki is punctual, thorough, and kind. She has been my doctor for over 30 years. She adds a personal touch to each visit. Most doctors don't ask you how you feel or have any general concern but she does! She only prescribes medicine when absolutely necessary.

Dr. Chitakki has been my doctor for about 10 years. Even though I have moved quite a distance from the Laurel area, I still have Dr. Chitakki as my primary care. She takes the time with me to discuss any issues I might have. Her staff, Monica in particular, has always extended herself to me. Dr. Chitakki has generously provided me with medication when I could not afford the required dosage. She wanted to ensure that my progress was never compromised. I appreciate all that she has done for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chitakki for the past six years and she never disappoints. She is professional , caring, thorough in her examinations and explanations, goes above and beyond to render care to her patients, and sees her patients on time. I've been with Dr. Chitakki for 16 years. When she was at her previous location she made sure that the time she spent with you was personable. Even though she was under strick time constrains. Once she took the courageous leap to private practice the personalized quality of care increased 100 fold. Her front office staff is just as friendly and wonderful as her. I've have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen. All 4 of my children adore her and my husband thinks she is awesome.

I love Dr Chitakki and her staff. They always make me feel comfortable and welcome. I am comfortable with talking to her about any an everything, whether it's something that involves my health or not. They always fit me in for my appointments, even when I need one asap. And plus I've been going to her for years and she's always taken great care o me :)

I would give her zero stars if I could. She is not a professional by any definition. My experience with this doctor has been nothing short of a nightmare.

Dr. Chitakki has been my doctor for approximately 8 years. I first had the pleasure of meeting her when she was at another location in Laurel and after one visit, I informed her that she was stuck with me. When we first met, I truly appreciated her warmth and compassion that she has displayed to me as a patient. This professionalism continued at her private practice, and was enhanced by her warm and friendly staff, convenient hours, and the ability to schedule last minute appointments.

As a new patient of Dr. Chitakki, I find her to be very thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She spends time really getting to know her patients and listens to concerns, focusing on preventative care as well as sick visits. The office staff is wonderful-very friendly and accommodating. I had the option to have routine lab work drawn right in the office for a minimal fee ,which was a huge convenience with my busy schedule. I would highly recommend Dr. Chitakki for primary care!
