I had a total knee replacement in August. Dr. Popowitz, Northeast Orthopedics and the team at Good Samaritan Hospital were terrific. I am so happy I didn't wait any longer.

I'm having knee problems, probably due to my age and being overweight. I met with Dr. Popowitz and he spent a lot of time with me. He reviewed x-rays of my knees with me and explained in detail what was going on. My situation is not too serious, but it could worsen if I'm not careful! Very helpful and knowledgable doctor. Highly recommend.

I met Dr. Popowitz right before being taken into surgery at Nyack Hospital. He showed me pictures of my xrays on his cell phone and told me what he was going to do to fix my seriously fractured femur. When I saw Dr Popowitz at his office 2weeks later he displayed the new xrays and told us he showed them to his colleagues as this was a teaching moment. My husband and I were very impressed with the pride he had in his work and felt I was in good hands. I returned 2weeks later and Dr Popowitz displayed the latest xrays, said they looked very good & also showed me signs the bone was healing. He was enthusiastic and gave me instructions that stuck to the original time line. I walked into the office last week(10) & he told me I was beyond the Bell Curve. I am extremely fortunate that Dr. Popowitz was the surgeon on call that day. Not another grandma pushing a walker...Not Yet!!

My knee replacement was a game changer, as my quality of life improved 100%. Dr. Popowitz is a gifted surgeon with wonderful bedside manner. Instead of just answering my questions, we had a conversation allowing me clearly understand both the surgery and recovery process. Being mentally prepared going into this procedure was huge. This provided me with the confidence needed to work through the pain in order to regain my strength and mobility. As such, I was able to return to work in 6 weeks.

I have had many experiences with orthopedic surgeons and I have to say Dr. Popowitz is an excellent physician with pristine bedside manner and clinical acumen. He treated me for my shoulder pain when I was at the point that I could not even take off my shirt due to pain. He listened to my complaint was thorough in his exam and reviewed with me the diagnosis and possible treatments. He gave me an injection which gave me back the use of my arm. I highly recommend him!

He may be great for some. He was not for me. My last review was 1 star and has been revised because he took the time to call and discuss, debate my points. The office is clean. The scheduling is fine. The staff is lovely. His PA is spectacular. He may be terrific at what he does, I am not sure. I think a doctor needs to treat a patient and not a condition; and I don't think that he has that. Medicine is a business; and it is a humanity, a doctor as I see it should be clear on the difference.

Dr. Popowitz has always treated me and my son with excellent care. When I needed surgery for a major tear of my rotator cuff he was humble enough to get a shoulder specialist to assist him with the surgery and my experience has been so much better than many people I have spoken to. He is not quick to cut but offers other options first. We have seen him for many years for sports injuries and general injuries and have always received excellent care.

Dr Popowitz recently performed a total knee replacement surgery on my right knee. I could not be happier with the result. Dr. Popowitz explained all that would happen in advance so I was left with few surprises. It has been two weeks since the surgery. It went very well and I am well underway in recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Popowitz to anyone having this surgery done in the Rockland County area.

Dr. Popowitz is the best. I hurt my knee while water skiing and he saw me the next day when I returned home from vacation. He was kind, caring and compassionate. He had excellent bed side manner. I ultimately required surgery and my knee is doing great. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!

Awful! If your like your doctor to treat you with condescension, like you're a nuisance, and like he can't wait to be rid of you - then he's your guy. I'm a very easy going, non-demanding patient. Just would like some help, understanding and maybe a few questions answered. He was amazingly unhelpful. The asst. we saw first was a chip off his block. Rude, unpleasant people. And what's with that waiting room? Looks like an airport. Are they expecting hordes limping through the doors?

Would not recommend Dr. Popowitz. Both appointments lasted a total of 5 minutes & felt so rushed. This place is more like a factory then a medical office.

Just left a post operative check up, five weeks after surgery by Dr. Popowitz . It was another exceptional experience. The incision is straight and smooth and is healing extremely well. The office staff is professional, kind and courteous. I am very satisfied with how everything is going!
