Amazing work on my ankle!
Dr. Cook, did an amazing job on my ankle! He was patient while answering all my questions during my multiple doctor's visits. I am three years post surgery and I still would recommend Dr. Cook to anyone that needs an orthopedic surgeon.

On Christmas Eve night, Dr. Cook did very complex emergency surgery on my compound-fractured calcaneus (heel bone). I was 80 years old, with advanced osteoporosis. He restructured my ankle and foot using a metal plate, numerous screws, and a bone graft. Ricardo Cook was always personable, unhurried, and kind. It’s been five years, and I can easily walk 2 or more miles. I love Dr. Cook.

This physician is haughty and ego-driven. He became insecure, defensive, and combative when I asked him about his recommendations. I asked him to close the door when his voice started going down the condescending route. I decided to finish my treatment (or start it in earnest) elsewhere. Highly recommend Dr. Hsu at JHU - a kind medical specialist without a fragile ego. Not sure why Mr. Cook practices medicine if he doesn't want to be bothered or why his facility keeps him given the info/reviews.

When making an appointment, I specifically searched for a doctor who I felt would listen to my concern and be compassionate. I am ashamed to say I selected Dr. Cook based solely on his photo and credentials and waited for an appointment with him specifically. I was sooo hopeful he would take my injury seriously. My appointment with him felt rushed, and he barely looked at the site of my injury. No physical exam either. I felt dismissed, as if my case wasn't enough of a challenge to him. I acknowledged that it was late in the day but he told me that the issue should resolve itself within 6-8 weeks. I left in pain and feeling very disappointed. It's been 10 weeks and I'm still in daily discomfort. A second opinion stated that an MRI should have been ordered. I'm out $300 from my time with him, experienced rude receptionists, and I am now working with another doctor for actual treatment. I hate to leave poor reviews, but this was my experience. I regret seeking him out specifically.

Dr. Cook did plantar fasciitis surgery on my right foot in Jan 2019. It took him about 12 minutes. My family was shocked to see him come out of the OR so quickly. I was in excruciating pain after the surgery and begged them to take me back to the OR to fix what he did wrong. He hit my tibial nerve and I was admitted for 3 days on a pain pump. They kept calling him to inform him and to get admit orders and he didn't answer. Finally he responded hours later and gave no explanations. Fast forward to 2021 and I'm still disabled by this. I am in severe pain everyday. I tried Physical therapy, taping, icing, heat, braces, shock wave, custom insoles, special socks, massage, soaks, muscle relaxers etc. I can only wear expensive Hoka sneakers. He is the absolute worst surgeon. He overbooks to maximize the insurance money. Stay far away from him. He needs to turn his license in. BEWARE

From start to finish my kids always received a great care from Dr. Cook and the staff. The front desk and staff are always kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. Dr Cook is AMAZING with kids and all ages !!! He is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and highly respected Ortopedic surgeon. He eases all my worries and does such a great job explaining, communicating and treating nervous patients. I couldn’t ask for a more caring and competent surgeon to treat my children.

Dr. Cook is the world’s best doctor and human being. He should open up a institution to teach all how to be so amazing. He’s very professional and friendly including his staff. He has an excellent combination of professionalism and caring and I appreciate it very much. May God be kind to him.

I would give no stars to the likelihood of a referral to this physician if were possible. I am only grateful for the physician who salvaged the botched work by Cook on my foot. I still have a foot.

I went to see dr.cook today; with a sprained ankle and pain in my left ankle and both wrists. But he did not check my left ankle and both wrist. he only x-rayed my right ankle and then only suggested that i have physical therapy?. He was not helpful to me at all and now I? am searching for another orthopedic doctor for a second opinion. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO HIM AGAIN.?
