Dr. Ray Rivas, MD

In Feb 2019 Dr. Rivas failed to flush my bile ducts enough to remove all stones. A month later I was septic and back in surgery to finish the job. ????

Dr. Rivas apparently missed class the day they taught manners. He's the epitome of an arrogant surgeon who doesn't even TRY to act like he cares about the patient. Not at all the person you want to see when you're in pain and need help. Not only was he a complete jerk in the hospital angering both myself & my spouse, at the post-op visit (for the first time in my life) he didn't even examine me! He didn't check the sutures or even look at the area at all.. just <2 minutes of asking how I'm doing then he was out the door! I've had at least 7+ surgeries over the course of my life and this is the only one where I actually cried going into it, not knowing if I'd be OK, not having ANY confidence in my surgeon but also not having any options because his practice were the surgeons on call and unfortunately for me, his partners already had a full schedule. He SERIOUSLY needs to check his ego & learn to listen to his patients and treat them like human beings who matter.

This guy is an Jerk. He wouldn't answer any of my questions regarding how he was going to do my appendectomy. I had already spoken with the anesthesiologist about wanting spinal anesthesia and he agreed for what I was having done that it would be safe and appropriate. Dr Rivas said NO and I asked for a different Dr right then. He came into the OR and I almost jumped off the table! I was forced to do it his way. I'm filling an official complaint with the medical board about him. Go elsewhere!!

Dr. Rivas went above and beyond to explain everything in words we could all understand. He truly cares about his patients..
