He has always spent the time required to discuss my problems and potential treatment options. I had Barrett’s Esophagus and he used laser treatment to get rid of it. Over the years I have had multiple colonoscopies and endoscopies, and he has always been professional, but also fun to talk with. I would recommend Dr Brown to anyone.

Dr. Brown Saved My Life
In July 2007, I was admitted to St. Luke's South in Overland Park with abdominal pain. About 4 months earlier in March, I went to the same hospital with similar abdominal pain. The first time, the pain eventually went away and I was dismissed from the hospital after they administered an MRI and nothing showed up. The second time in July, another MRI was administered with the same results. A surgeon came by my room and suggested that he remove my gall bladder since nothing was shown in the MRI, and the pain was probably associated with the gall bladder. I said 'sure, you know what you're doing and I trust your judgment'. Soon after this, Dr. Randal Brown came by, and with him being concerned with the symptoms, he offered a different option before going through with the surgery. I said 'sure, I'm open to whatever you suggest'. His option LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE. He caught my pancreatic cancer early enough that I survived. I'm healthy & alive 16 years later.

Very disappointed
I waited at least 60 days for an appointment with Dr Brown, who I have seen at least twice in the past, to discuss issues I have been dealing with for years. The only thing he did is listen to my heart. Everything else I attempted to discuss with him was disregarded. No test, no blood work . What else can I say? A complete waste of time and money.

To start off front desk staff called me Mr since they couldn’t read the drivers license or other paperwork that was either in their hands or in front of them. Then they called me Randall because again they couldn’t look at all the documents they had in front of them. Next we are going to put an it in the crook of your elbow so you can’t bend your arm within causing pain & of course it’s my body & I know how things work in my body & I didn’t want the huge bruise that I always get when people insist on putting an iv in a bend. Next who knows what the paper said that the nastiest brought in because he just wants you to sign it so when you take it from him so you can tear it he takes it back. I was NEVER allowed to read that paper & had to sign with the wrong hand but I was not allowed to have the paper low enough to see where to sign so I just scribbled. I would NEVET recommend this place to anyone I care about.

Dr. Brown and his nurse refused to work with my insurance company to get approval for a drug they prescribed. They would not make a phone call or even request the needed forms to get the drug approved. Very unprofessional. Don't waste your time.

I found Dr. Brown to be very logical, unlike some of the doctors I have seen previously. His Nurse Practitioner was awesome as well.

Dr. Brown thoroughly explained what he was going to do and then reviewed everything when the procedure was completed. The pictures and explanation put me at ease. He followed up with biopsy results in a timely manner too.

Saw him for Crohn's for a couple years. Didn't listen, was condescending, and acted like I was making my issues up & had to just deal with it. Finally made the switch, and new GI actually took the time to understand what was going on. Ran a couple tests, and what do ya know! I needed surgery ASAP to remove a large mass, & other nastiness. It took 2 years of moaning to finally give up, and a month for new guy to fix me. His staff is great though. Especially his nurse Luba.
