I was visiting from out of state and needed a transfusion to manage my Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). I was referred to Dr Galatin at Stanford. Even with orders from my doctor, Galatin initially refused treatment and lectured me on why my treatment modality was incorrect. He hadn't reviewed my records, doesn't specialize in MDS (a rare disease) and hasn't published any research on it. His style was the antithesis of patient-centered care. I definitely won't use Stanford Hospital again.
