Dr. Paul Prendiville, MD

To be honest, Dr. Prendiville's diagnosis and treatment plan was probably accurate but he and his staff's general attitude and overall behavior threw me off and had me not wanting to return. When I approached the front desk to check in, the lady was looking at me with both judgement and confusion, acting like I wasn't supposed to be there. Not a welcoming environment. When the doctor came in, he was asking uncomfortable questions like how do I have health insurance if I'm not currently working. In the middle of the consult, he abruptly said 'Thank you' in a dismissive tone to let me know that my appointment had come to a conclusion and he would like me to leave the exam room. Very unprofessional. I've never had a doctor's appointment quite like that.

High praise for Dr. Prendiville and his entire staff. At the office I never had to wait more that 15-20 minutes, even when I was early. His staff is welcoming and does an excellent job getting me ready to see the Dr. The Dr gave me a thorough understanding of how the surgery would be performed and steps he would be taking. The surgery center was amazing -everyone was very accomadating and helpful. I am very satisfied with my outcome-able to drive at night with no blinding halo effect from on coming lights! Definitely will recommend Dr. Prendiville to others.

I can't say enough about Dr. Prendiville and his staff. Very knowledgeable, helpful, caring, and very patient. I highly recommend Dr. Prendiville for any of your eyecare needs .

My time had come for my 1st. cataract surgery. I was apprehensive & afraid of the unknown. The ever so kind professional Dr. Prendeville and his surgi-center staff put me at ease. I was In and out in no time and within 26hrs. my vision had improved tremendously. It was a mini miracle! Couldn’t wait for my 2nd. eye to be done. And, boy can I see now. Thank you Demi, the conscientious surgical coordinator! Who makes it happen? Demi does. Thanks also and shout out to the office manager Toby for the caring following up. The entire experience was a seamless transition to better and brighter vision. I would highly recommend Dr. Prendeville and his team of professionals.

He might not be the most talkative person on the planet. He is skilled, professional and very caring. I have been going to him for over 15 years. My family member just had surgery with him and it was flawless. I would rather have an amazing skilled and accurate Dr. working on me than a friendly inept doctor. 5 Stars.

Dr. Prendiville and his staff are very disrespectful of your time. If you have no place to go and nothing to do and thus have infinite time to run to multiple appts at multiple locations, then by all means go to Dr. Prendiville. However, if you do have a life and want to get your eye care covered in less than 3 visits, consider the many options in OC where they can complete all your testing in 1 visit. Now, to get my medical records for my new doctor, they insisted that I had to get the form in person or they would snail mail it, no email option! Then I need to return the signed form to their office and then return yet again to pick up the records! When I moved myself and my dad to OC, ALL of our doctors allowed us to get our medical records through email or online! These guys are stuck in the 1950s! When I went to pick up the form 10min after talking to them on the phone, I got there to find the office closed! Perhaps most important, they not kind and I always leave feeling upset!!

I made an appointment with a written referral for minor ambulatory care from my primary physician. He took the appt., charged for an office visit and then came in and said, "we treat sty's (it was recurring) with hot compresses. We are surgeon's. We remove things." He was rude, condescending, and bitter. Why take the appointment and waste both of our time? It was a written referral for a minor procedure. He is at least 70 years old.

Optometrist was thorough and friendly. The doctor was friendly and polite, he explained there evaluative procedures but didn't explain or provide commentary about my eye condition, as I expected from my interactions with previous opthalmologist. It was pretty offputting. The entire appointment took longer than expected as well. Not sure if this is the manner and technique of all doctors in this practice?

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Prendiville for 16 years and trust him implicitly with all of our eye care needs. He is professional and knowledgeable and takes time to explain any issues in an easy to understand manner. Recently, he performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. It was a huge success and I couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Prendiville's Surgery Assistant, Demi, is outstanding. She is efficient, friendly and goes out of her way to be helpful. During our first visit in 2004 we were lucky enough to meet and get to know Courtney, who handles all of our eyeglass needs. She is friendly, knowledgeable and in all these years there has never been a mistake with our prescription glasses. She is a star and both my husband and I feel as if she is a friend. Thank you again, Dr. Prendiville for taking such great care of us and for having such an excellent staff.

He's shockingly inept.

Not too good! And worse with the lady in eyeglasses dept. Dr. Prendiville didn't have any conversation w/me. He handed me a piece of paper without telling me whether I needed new glasses or not, and I assumed I did. I took my prescription to the eyeglass dept. & the lady who served me DID NOT tell me that my eye prescription had not changed, instead she sold me a pr. of $208 eyeglasses!! She also told my daughter things that were not true. UNHAPPY!

He is an excellent doctor. He has shown me empathy because I was afraid. I am grateful to have found someone I trust with my sight. He does great follow up care. I feel completely secure with his skills.

My Husband just had cataract surgery by Dr. Prendiville on his second eye two days ago. We elected to use the upgraded lens on both eyes. His eye was checked yesterday and vision is 20/25 one day after surgery. Dr. Prendiville is an excellent surgeon. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. My husband is 81 and can read without close up glasses now. He can't believe how crisp and clear his vision is. First eye was done 3 months ago and is amazing. Second eye already excellent.

I would give Dr. Prendiville a lower score if it was available. My mother, 83 has been seeing him a long time but since I now care for my mother, the last two visits were awful. On one visit, we sat in the exam room over 1/2 hour. We got up & left. Last week, we had an appt. with him. I called a few days before to verify. The staff is rude, but confirmed my appt. When we got there, they had no record of the appt., & said he was gone on an emergency. No one called to let us know.

I have been a patient for a number of years and recently did my Cataract surgery. He did take great care of me walking me thru the entire process. Would highly recommend him - one of the better eye doctors.

I had cataract surgery in June 2016. I was told this surgery is easy. Well, it wasn't so simple with this doctor. First, he accidentally cut into my vitreous gel, then had to push it back in and suture it closed. After the patch was removed the next day my eye was completely black and my vision was like looking through brown glasses. After my vision cleared I found that I am now far-sighted and have lost depth perception. They measured my eye wrong!!! I do NOT recommend this doctor.
