Dr. Nicole Getzel, DO

First the plus side: Nicole is personable and seems to listen well. She took detailed notes of the EIGHTEEN symptoms we presented about my wife who had a massive brain hemorrhage four months ago. Now the negative: She demonstrated no curiosity about the panoply of symptoms we presented. Typically, competent doctors mentally compile a list of symptoms into a diagnosis or diagnoses. That did not happen in this case. Nicole acted more like a stenogropher than a neurologist. She didn't even examine my wife! One of my wife's symptoms is no feeling in her left leg and foot. Nicole never got out of her chair to examine the severity of my wife's numbness, nor any other symptom we presented. My wife has been experiencing many problems since her brain surgery, and they've worsened over the past three weeks. We told Nicole at the start of our session that we needed a treatment plan for my wife's condition. We didn't get one.

I went to this doctor a while back and she treated me like I was a hypochondriac. Super unprofessional in the way she asked questions and very dismissive of debilitating headaches. She actually told me when describing symptoms that I sounded like I wanted her to take a picture of my brain. Enough said.

We had a horrible experience with Dr. Licking. She was unprofessional and did not communicate well. Her examination was curt and hasty. She showed a narrow breadth of knowledge and was unable to answer questions in a professional manner. She spoke in a demeaning and dismissive way. The only thing we wanted to do was get out of her office as quickly as possible. Do not go to see this doctor. She lacks the expertise and professionalism needed to provide good patient care.

Dr. Licking went extremely fast during our appointment. She was very particular on how I described my symptoms and did not seem to understand or want to understand the severity. I underwent an MRI and after the results she advised that I will need to work with my Primary care doctor. I was confused since I still have significant symptoms impairing my ability to do daily activities. When I asked if any additional testing was to be done, she was very reluctant and said that she could put a request for an EEG but that I needed to work with my PCP. The quality of care was severely lacking and as you can tell I am very angry.

This doctor loves my mother as if she was her own. She’s realistic and honest. So glad to have her in our bouquet of docs!
