He is extremely intelligent and surgically gifted. I had a malignancy in my neck diagnosed and removed by Dr. Pritchard. He is a wonderful man and a great doctor

So Thankful
I would 1000% recommend Dr Pritchard for anyone facing surgery. He guided us with a plan from the beginning and everything happened just as he explained. When my surgery date came, I experienced an unexpected complication and he handled it with such precision and professionalism.

I am a 32yr old and developed sleep apnea from my enlarged tonsils, adenoids and turbinates. I was originally diagnosed at Florida Medical Clinic (I would have stayed with them but they didn't perform adult tonsillectomy's, so I decided to go to Florida ENT & Allergy and Dr. Pritchard was the first available. I will say Dr. Pritchard is a nice man and the surgeries went well, but I think the pre and post op care was mediocre. Please also keep in mind adults tonsillectomy's are more painful than the pediatric populations and their recovery time is probably 1/3 of what I experienced. I'm not sure if this is HCA's policy or Brandon Surgery Centers policy, but they are trying to give patients NON-opioid medications for recovery. We discussed what would be given in clinic, and after talking to a couple adults who had this surgery, I requested Norco because I heard the pain was intolerable. This was more painful than childbirth (literally) and I'm glad I asked for something because I would have not been able to reach him on the weekend (which is when my tonsils felt the worst). I just was kind of annoyed by the fact that I had to stand up and ask for something to cover my pain ahead of time. During my recovery on day 9 or so, I started experiencing NEW symptoms of tinnitus, dizziness/vertigo, jaw pain, and ear fullness/pain. I was checked out by the audiologist, and everything was fine, so he diagnosed me with Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). This can easily be fixed with physical therapy, but I work about 30-40 minutes away and was scheduled to start work right after this surgery. When I received my FMLA paperwork back from him, he wrote "no restrictions" and that I was able to go back to work. I called the office several times to let them know I'm not comfortable driving with this and he still would not write a note (to even give me time to see a PT). I am a nurse and explained to them that this is wrong and the medical staff who spoke to me said "well, then you should know how this works". I really feel like he didn't listen to my post op concerns, and would NEVER take my kids to him - especially since kids can't really explain how they feel in terms of pain or new symptoms. It's so sad that I had to see a dentist 1 week after surgery and even he was concerned enough to give me steroids and a muscle relaxer & follow up in 1 week to make sure I'm doing okay. I just feel very dismissed by the staff and doctors at Florida ENT & Allergy and like their job is done after surgery.
