The Rheumatologist who Stands Above the Rest
After seeing countless specialists across Nevada and California, I felt like I was chasing ghosts. Each doctor threw medications at symptoms without ever truly understanding the root cause. Then I met Dr. McKinnon. It was a breath of fresh air. She's not only incredibly knowledgeable about rheumatology, but she's also keenly perceptive and a fantastic listener. Unlike other doctors who rush you through appointments, Dr. McKinnon takes her time during consultations. She asks thoughtful questions, assesses your condition thoroughly, and explains everything in a clear, candid way.In my case, Dr. McKinnon's diagnosis finally made sense of everything I'd been experiencing. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted. Finding a doctor this passionate and dedicated is a rarity these days. I can't recommend her enough, especially if you've been struggling to get a proper diagnosis.

Very Good Doctor
Dr. McKinnon is exceptional and knowledgeable. Finding her in Nevada was a very pleasant surprise. She spent nearly an hour with me during my initial consult to discuss my symptoms. On my follow-up, she spent time walking me through my results, explaining what they mean, and answering my questions as we proceeded. She is knowlegeable and kind, I'm not sure what else is needed in a doctor.

Incompetent Doctor
Waited several months to see Dr. Naya McKinnon, and missed work based on a referral that she could diagnose and thus treat arthritis in my lower back. This was to be based on blood work and back x-rays that were to be sent there months earlier. Not only did DR. Naya never receive my full blood work or back x-rays but continued to inform me that she does not treat arthritis nor any other of the autoimmune disorders I have such as Sjogrens. There was no apology made on her part and no refund offered for a service she did not provide. I would give zero stars if I could. Stay away from this place, its a waste of your time, money, and emotional resources.

Dr. Naya McKinnon has been my rheumatologist for nearly 8 years. She has seen me through lupus nephritis and then wrangling my SLE under control to where I am only on baby doses of immune suppressants and in remission. Once she is in the room with you she listens to what is going on. While she is usually a few minutes late to get into the room with you, it is because she is providing excellent care for other patients. But she doesn't load up her schedule like some doctors. The other doctors I saw prior to her nearly killed me by thinking there was no way a 44-year-old white dude could have SLE and didn't treat me at all. I am convinced that is what led to the kidney involvement. I cannot imagine going through SLE without someone like her guiding me.

Dr. Mckinnonn is a doctor who’s not only smart she is one who listens and truly cares for her patients. Her office runs normally on time I’ve never had a long wait and her staff is always polite and friendly. I was recommended to Dr. McKinnon several years ago and feel truly blessed. Finding a good dr. Is hit and miss. Do not go in expecting to be healed itdoesn’t work that way but she will greatly improve your life and help you manage your rheumatoid arthritis.

Dr. McKinnon has been my rheumatologist for many years and I highly recommend her. She is knowledgeable, caring, kind, and truly cares for her patients. She has helped me find the right regimen of meds that has helped me to get in “remission” so I can enjoy a full and active life. I just can’t imagine where I would be without her support and guidance!

You will never find a proper care there. Do not go! Lack of competency in everything plus snobbish attitude.

Had to wait several months for an appointment only to wait over an hour while she reviewed my file, while I was sitting in the room - waiting. She then referred me to several tests and told to come back in 3 months. Very little done, very frustrated.

Be prepared to sit and wait. Had an appointment at 11am and wasn’t seen until 1245pm, mind you I was 30mins early. It took me over four months to get an appointment to see Dr. McKinnon for her to do absolutely nothing but jump in my wallet and re-run labs tests that were run two weeks prior at Johns Hopkns prior to my appointment with her. This practice is now charging an additional $25 on top of the co-pay that is owed if you have insurance. Report Dr.McKinnon practice to yr insurance carriers

I would leave a 0 out of 5 if I could. A) Answering staff is beyond rude. Not helpful. Don't care. B) Impossible to get in, for a terrible Dr. Looking at 30-60 day wait for a doctor who will just order labs and milk insurance money. C) Milks for insurance money. Doesn't care about a patient at all. Ask others I know here. Same response. D) Just shows you images on google images. This is hysterical. I can do that at home. If you go here, you must be desperate. Worst doctor ever.

If your case is not simple, do not see McKinnon. She is unwilling to do any work in difficult cases. I went to her today for help getting a scrip that I had been on. I didn't need her to figure anything out. i needed help getting a scrip that had been working. She cares more about covering her butt than helping her patients. Had she even offered an alternative to what i was on other than meds i have already taken that did not work then maybe she would have better score. AVOID

Impossible patient in Las Vegas, NV – Jun 29, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. McKinnon?
Dr. Naya has been my Dr. for treating my PMR for over 4 years. I am on Prednisone daily to repress the symptoms. Without it I could die but would be in the hospital for sure. Today I realized I had no refills and only enough meds for 3 days. I called the office and was told I needed to see the Dr. but could not get in until 2 months from now. I asked the girl to see of the Dr. would call some in since I will be out in 3 days. She cam back and said no that I should call my primary care Dr.
