Dr. Monica Plazarte, DO

6 months ago I had an appt. and on the way to the office my car broke down. I called the office and the guy who answered the phone in so many words expected me to leave my car sit and have someone bring me in for the appt. I have nobody to call so I requested a cancelation. Now 6 months later I need a biopsy of my thyroid and I call for an appt. and the same guy says you are not allowed to come to this office because you are listed as a no show. But I had called and he said no your still a no show. It takes 3 months to get an appt. because they are so busy. I guess all they are looking for is money and not really caring about people. As if one cancel will hurt them so bad to not want a patient that had an issue of no issue of their own. To make things even worse those 5 doctors in that office are the only ones in this whole area that take most insurances. So many had warned me about how nasty they are but I overlooked it but now I see. SHAME SHAME

I saw her on 2 occasions. At the 1st visit, she listened partially and then ordered blood work, urine test and asked that I return for an Ultrasound of my thyroid glands (at her office). I did all of the testing and returned to her office for the Ultrasound, which she stated had a 'mass' on the 1 side and she would follow on a yearly basis. When I asked her 'Why am I so deathly sick, I cannot function at all, my heart is racing, I've gained >50 lbs in 1 yr, I cannot stop perspiring, fainting & 95% housebound, etc' - She told me I was going thru 'Menopause'. She tuned me out and everything I was trying to tell her, such as 'I had a total hysterectomy, inc. both ovaries in my early 20's and been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for 30+ yrs (ALL in my records). I never went back & was diagnosed as 'Adrenal Insufficiency' a dangerous condition that can lead to death quickly ~ she missed the diagnosis completely and NOT because she didn't have ALL the facts in front of her. Incompetent

My son is 25 and has Down syndrome, we started seeing Dr Plazarte after his doctor retired. I was very impressed with her. She took her time and answered all questions. Very down to earth and approachable.

Bad diagnostic. I saw Dr. Monica Plazarte for around 3 years. She saw few nodules in my neck and she told me that was nothing to be concern. I left the office because she told me that I need to continue with my regular doctor because her job was done; even I told her that I continue coughing and my throat was red all the time. Well, I continue looking for help.. on March 8 2021, I confront another neck surgery. the new surgeon tooked 8 suspicious nodules and 4 were positive with cancer. Today I have 2 1/2 month of my surgery. Dr. Plazarte your diagnostic was wrong. I hope the cancer did not mutate to another tissue.

Dr Plazarte is always ready when she enters the exam room and knows your lab results etc. She's always pleasant and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She's an awesome endocrinologist who always has the best interests of her patients in mind and pays total attention to you during your visit.

As with every other Review - she listens, cares and responds to all your needs. Her staff at Clearwater is awesome!

Dr. Plazarte takes her time and listens to her patients concerns. She communicates effectively and clearly and does whatever she can to help her patients. I would highly recommend her.
