Mismanaged medication
Don't let this man's experience in pharmacology research fool you. He drugged my child by prescribing so many different medications and dosages. My child missed out on a whole year of life struggling with the severe effects of the meds he prescribed. Totally missed the diagnosis of autism in my child. Scaring us with his diagnosis of severe and life altering psychiatric disorders. Once we went to another psychiatrist meds were removed and my child became themselves again. Today living a great life.

There are plenty of other providers
If I could leave a negative start rating, I would. Dr. Labellarte is to put it plainly a bully. He is not interested in his profession at all. Instead he is more invested in his ego and what he believes is correct despite how I may have felt. There are so many providers that truly care for you. I would not recommend seeing someone that is so neglectful to his patients.

Disgustingly rude; Shockingly non-beneficial
Labellarte was extremely disrespectful to me and my family. He asserted his opinion over ours at all times and uses only his own judgment in making medical decisions that will probably make your mental health decline. Furthermore, his judgment is very poor. He hardly spends any time with you, will insult you and name call you if he finds fault in your character, and is accusatory and unpleasant. In the mere days after leaving his practice i felt better off. As time passes I realize more and more that he was not willing to form a therapeutic alliance and was more interested in calling me lazy.

Dr. Labellarte was the worst psychiatrist I have ever met. He was of no help, said things to me and my child that was so unprofessional, that I seriously thought of lodging a formal complaint against him. Never attentive, talks over people, and spent his time banging on his laptop. Not creative or insightful at all. Only when I brought my husband did he somewhat change. We finally found a kind physician that helped my child. Yes, the state of psychiatry in Maryland is horrible but don't settle on this man. You can do better for your child and for your family.

Please protect your child or self and do not see this doctor. He is predatory and mismanages medications on purpose to his patients. If you have any concerns he will not consider them but enforce what he has prescribed. If you do choose to see him be very wary of how you feel when prescribed.

I am a former patient of Dr. Labellarte and am someone who knows firsthand just hand unprofessional this man is. Reading over the negative reviews there is a commonality in that this psychiatrist does not take his job seriously enough to respond back to his patients in anything close to a timely manner. There have been several instances where I had to go upwards of 3 weeks without my medication because reaching his office was just that difficult. On the off chance that he does get back to you though, you will be met with someone who cares more about pushing his specific prescriptions than the wellness of his patients. I could write a lot more about how he has mentally harmed both me and my family, but instead I will leave with a warning. Avoid this man and his practice at all costs, or else he will make the life of you and your children worse.

I went to Dr L because I believe he is very knowledgeable about my rare condition, but he does not come across as very caring. That’s okay since I really needed the knowledge more. My biggest concern was the lack of professionalism I have experienced with him. I have been going there almost a year and am usually a non -complainer, but it’s very frustrating to go to his office. His staff rarely answers the phone, I can’t contact him, he did not remember my age when I saw him, he tells me that no one knows more than he does, My medications have been called to my pharmacy incorrectly. That is all counter productive when I’m desperate for medical treatment. I have had phone appointments and he does not answer- He just generally doesn’t seem to care much. He’s good because of his knowledge, but the lack of a caring attitude makes him not a good doctor.

Dr. Labellarte is a brilliant diagnostician whose interactions with us and our son were productive, friendly, and ultimately life-changing. We cannot say enough good things about him. If you are looking for a doctor who is smooth talking and cuddly, he is not for you. If you want a doctor who is knowledgeable and perceptive and who "tells it like it is," you have found him in Dr. Labellarte. He is a remarkably talented doctor.

Would not recommend. Agree with all the negative reviews posted. My son always felt worse after seeing him. He is not very perceptive and has poor people skills. The time spent with him was a waste of time and money. He was not helpful in a crisis situation. I truly question whether he has any empathy or compassion for his patients. The person who originally suggested him to us, also left his practice for many of the same reasons.

Doctor Labellarte is absolutely wonderful. He is very honest and his memory for your children's issues is outstanding. My twins have had issues with anxiety and ADHD since they were four. After going through three different doctors who gave my children the wrong diagnoses and wrong medications, I thought our lives would never improve. I stumbled across the CPE clinic and have found the doctor my kids needed. Now, my kids issues are being managed by a very knowledgeable doctor.

If you're into "mommy shaming" and paying money to have your child's needs ignored all while stroking an arrogant, self assured doctor's ego, then you're in luck! Drop a few hundred $ and leave with NO answers, all while being criticized the entire appointment. He was more concerned in proving his "knowledge" and talking about who he has "rubbed elbows with" than getting REAL information about what my son needed. What a waste of time and money. Run! ... far, far away!

He does not accept any insurance and charges a fortune. My son was his patient for more than 2 years. His care was so bad, my son ended up being admitted to Sheppard Pratt. Rather than place him on Lithium immediately because he is bipolar (didn't want to because he said the blood work need was a hassle), tried all kinds of secondary bipolar drugs. A huge waste of money but more than that time. Time is critical when dealing with a child's mental illness. He suffered needlessly.

I do not suggest Dr. Labellarte. He was very hard to schedule with. He has extremely short expensiveappointments irregularly and talks more than he listens to how the patient is feeling. He kept increasing my medication because when I was not comfortable with it. This increased my depression so I had to take even more medication to balance that. He was stubborn when I tried to describe my mental health instead of perceptive. Finally, he made me feel embarrassed when I talked about the way felt
