Horrible, dismissive, not thorough
This doctor examined my child as a follow-up in 2022, after an ER visit for a swollen lump behind their ear. The ER doctor was thorough, well-informed about my child's other medical issues and instructed us to follow-up with an ENT. Dr K was incredibly rude, dismissive and not thorough at all, refusing to even palpate the area where the lump was. His notes obsess instead about me bringing medicine in a cooler (it has to be kept cool). He repeated 'your child is healthy' in a hostile voice when I asked a simple question about the ear issue and autoimmune. I would avoid this dysregulated dismissive doctor. I am struck by the number of one-star reviews; he seems to have two modes.

Patients are just speed bumps on the way to retire
He sounds friendly enough when he’s talking, but listen closely… it’s dismissive to get you out of the office asap. Maybe at one point this clinician gave a hoot about his patients (don’t they usually start out ok?) It’s totally transparent. Now that he’s at the top of the food chain, he’s primarily riding on the big-ego highway. Seeing patients are just speed bumps on the way to retirement.

Terrible Practice
My doctor recommended him to me. I got the appt and when I was called a PA or NP asked me a lot of questions...then said she was doing an endoscopy...I said why, where's the doctor. He's off today!!!!!!!! She rec an expensive medication for my nose bleeds and said it would take care of it. It did not. I went to the desk and said I wanted to see the doctor and they gave me an appt for over a month away. When I was home, I thought I would try and find out if there was a waiting list. She informed me th at I did not have an appt with the doctor, only the PA or NP...I gave up and wrote a review....but it disappeared. Hope this one gets through, My guess is that he doesn't want to bother with old people: medicare people.

Great experience
My appointment was In December 2023, First time being to a ENT specialist. I like this Doctor as he gets right to the point and explains in detail what he feels my next step should be. Easy to talk to, & to find out, he speaks 3 different languages.

Dismissive condescending terrible listener
Dr. Kortbus was condescending from the moment he walked in the room. He does not seem to believe in autoimmune issues that affect hearing. his main suggestion was to smoke a joint. His office took 3 weeks to send paperwork to insurance for an MRI. 3 weeks after the MRI I hadn’t heard anything from his office and called for results. His nurse said it was fine and I needed hearing aids, which he had never mentioned in our appointment. Although he said he’d answer any questions after the MRI he refused to speak on the phone or even have a telehealth appointment with me. A specialist ENT diagnosed my problem as autoimmune and one round of steroids solved the problem.

Rude and dismissive
Sorry i did not read the reviews before my appt as i see many reflective of his aggressive behavior and my experience. Raising his voice upon his entrance “ YOU ARE LATE. SURPRISED WE LET YOU IN. APPOINTMENT TIME MEANS U IN THAT CHAIR AT THAT TIME. THIS WILL NOT BE A REAL EXAM YOU HAVE PERFECT HEARING WHY ARE YOU HERE” . And it got worse from there. This was not the case reflected by my test. It was a devastating experience.

I found Dr. Kortbus to be dismissive and uncaring... He was supposed to give a call back when he saw the results of my hearing test... Never heard from... time to find a new ENT doctor

Touched my knee, thigh, and arm.
Dr. Kortbus unnecessarily touched me. He put his hand on my bare knee/thigh and also stroked my arm twice. It made me feel very uncomfortable.

Shockingly bad bedside manner
So sad to see a specialist so dismissive of his patients who come for help. Happily he gives referrals to kinder, more knowledgable providers who were actually interested in finding and treating the initial issue. Otherwise a totally unpleasant experience.

Uncaring treatment
The doctor might be good at his trade but his bedside manner is terrible. When asking him about a condition I have his response was “ no comment “. When I asked again as that’s the reason I went to see him his response again “ I have no comment “. Never in my life have I ever seen a doctor who responded w such a lack of caring and arrogance. It’s a shame as the rest of his staff are quite professional.

I was very disappointed in the care and concern in my visit. A dismissive attitude toward my description of symptoms, then told he cant say or do anything without a CT scan. There was no examination of my sinuses. (Which the complaint was for sinus pressure pain) Upon going to a second ENT-who actually examined my sinuses, she found an infection pretty confidently and prescribed antibiotic. No CT scan needed. The careless behavior was not an attribute I look for in a doctor.

I saw Dr Kortbus yesterday after he was highly recommended by my partner. He is everything you could possible want from a Dr. He is thorough and kind. He has a lovely sense of humor and made me feel instantly at ease. He takes his time explaining his findings. I highly recommend him for any ENT issues you may be experiencing.

I wrote a review but it's not here. I was pleased with his background and most of the reviews were good so I made an appt. A P.A. came in, asked a lot of questions, was very nice...then I asked when the doctor was coming in...she said he was off.....she is a good PA, but she's not. a doctor...she never looked for polyps for sinus issues/I have two nosebleeds a day and she gave me an Rx for an off label nose med to use for 3 days...it was $18 and did nothing...she did a scope and said I have acid reflux.....I made a second appt and asked to see the doctor.....it was a month wait...so I called one day and asked to be on a waiting list for the doctor and she said I never had an appt with the doctor - only the PA....I guess he don't see old people/medicare people/ I canceled.
