Dr. Michael Kommor, MD

All of my visits with Dr Michael Kommor over the past 28 years, have been exemplary. I maintain a great respect for Dr Kommor. He values my thoughts and after we discuss all options, he makes decisions with me. I consider him a great friend, after being with him for so long, and a partner in determining my healthcare. Dr Kommor has been the lead doctor for me in almost every facet of my health. Indolent non Hodgkins Lymphoma, still considered incurable, the treatments, and clinical trial I’ve undergone have resulted in giving me my life. I am very grateful to Dr Kommor. NHL has affected pretty much all of my body. Dr Kommor’s guidance has been critical in the well-being of my health. It is amazing how hard he works. Besides being the smartest (genius), he is no doubt the most compassionate doctor I’ve ever known, in a very difficult field. Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts on this very special, fine human being.

His actions and behavior were deplorable and unbecoming of a doctor.

He is the best choice in his field. He is brilliant, compassionate, professional and a patient advocate. He is a great diagnostician and makes things happen to figure out the best treatment. He is very approachable and humble and just wants what is best for his individual patients.

Dr. Kommor monitors me at least every six months for my 2013 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Even though I’ve been NED (no evidence of disease) for almost 11 years, I have malabsorption issues from my Whipple surgery leading to a deficiency in several vitamins and minerals. Dr. Kommor closely monitors all of my labs and prescribes iron infusions and various other treatments when necessary. He always spends a great deal of time with me making sure to explain all of my lab values and treatment options. He is extremely knowledgeable, super personable and always very kind. I am very grateful for him.

Dr. Kommor seems to be in very high demand all the time, but when he is with you , you might think he has no other patients. Very focused, friendly, kind. And as far as I can tell. really good at his job.

After taking great care of my mother for years, Dr. Kommor was surprisingly absent in her final weeks. My experience with other Oncologists has been that they are there until the end. Instead, Dr. Kommor never visited or contacted my Mom after she received the devastating news that her Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma had progressed to Lung Cancer, making her untreatable. During her final week of life, Dr. Kommor was noticeably absent. I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend a doctor who can't take the time to comfort a patient in these circumstances.

BEST DOCTOR EVER--very qualified, diligent, patient and focused on my cancer trmt (non-Hodgkins-in full remisson 8 yrs)-routinely reviews status of my health based upon all records/reports of all of my medical care. He explains everything in terms I can understand! He's very kind and caring, both as a doctor and as a super human being. Simply said, I love him for the wonderful care that I always receive from him, and because he is such an outstanding and caring person. The best, simply the best!
