Set me back years
Horrible experience with Dr DeMeo. Misdiagnosed and mismedicated. Spoke the entire sessions, didn't give patients room to share their experiences. Didn't seek to help when I was struggling and hinted at lack of medication compliance. Was confrontational and lacked understanding of the situation. Have seen several therapists since that were much better. Would highly recommend working with others especially in cases of severe depression.

I have been a patient of De. DeMeo for fifteen years. He changed my life through diagnosis and treatment. I continue to have complete control over my condition and now only see him periodically for status update. I appreciate Dr. DeMeo's kind and gentle demeanor, but above all else I appreciate his honesty - he is a scientist - not an agony aunt. In summary, I cannot recommend him enough.

Horrible experience with an egotistical critical nasty authoritarian. Misdiagnosed and over-medicated me. Was often confrontational and lacked the smallest human kindness, empathy and understanding. After rescheduling too often for his taste (I was having job issues) he dropped me and didn’t return my calls. An ugly human being who should have become a butcher, not a provide of medical services.

Dr. De Meo was one of the first psychiatrist i saw. it was in 1980's. he diagnosed me with depression and prescribed Prozac. the medication did not help and i was up to very high levels. the last appointment i had with him he did not show up. period. i tried to call but, no answer. at that time he had no receptionist. i called his phone number quite a few times as i was upset. he finally returned my numerous messages with an explaination of "he was busy". but, he did not apologize.

I have been a patient of Dr DeMeo since 1995. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is always prompt in returning phone calls, and his demeanor is friendly and relaxing. He takes time to explain the effects of the medications I take and is diligent in tracking my history.

So glad I found Dr. DeMeo. This doctor is literally saving my life. He's extremely knowledgeable in his field and outside as well. DeMeo was able to pin point what's wrong with me and my PCP and other doctors couldn't (not speaking about psychiatric here). Highly recommend Dr. DeMeo to every one out there.

Nasty, authoritarian with diagnostic ability of a computer program. Condescending, unhelpful, doesn't let patient speak. Needs a bit of the medications he prescribes, some humility, humaneness and empathy. Will drop you for rescheduling too many appointments and then never check on your well-being. Highly unrecommended.
