Dr. Michael Chabot, DO

I have been extremely pleased with the experience, the outcome and the follow-up care that I received from Dr. Chabot and his staff.

I saw Dr. Chabot for lumbar spinal stenosis & associated pinched nerves, herniated disks, radiculopathy, and more in that area of my spine, that had progressed over the years making it increasingly difficult for me to even walk any distance over 15 ft. Along with the arthritis and my age, (68), I had just decided that I'd have to sit down & live with it. I was wrong.At my initial visit, he did a thorough exam, x-rays, read my recent MRI, and surgery was scheduled within a few weeks. I would never have believed the outcome would be so successful. It's been 12 weeks since surgery & two rounds of physical therapy (which is essential), and I am up and going better than I have in years! Very good results.Recommended by my PC, I found Dr. Chabot, along with his assistant Sherry, to be professional, experienced, and highly skilled.Based on my experience, I would highly recommend him for lumbar surgery.

Dr. Chabot may be a good surgeon, but during my consult he was rude and dismissive. He sat with his back to me during our discussion, focusing instead on his laptop. He was impatient with my questions. His overall attitude was dismissive. I spoke to someone else in his office and someone in the imaging service he works with and they told me this is the way he treats all his patients. I went to another doctor.

From initial contact through the final rehabilitation everything and everyone was very professional and courteous.

I am compelled to help advise others, in need of a caring & "good" doctor, to look somewhere else. I wish I had paid attention to *all* the reviews, because my experience was a nightmare with Dr. Chabot, & it seems like I am not the only one. This one man changed my life forever, & it was not for the better. In a nutshell, he hurt me much more than he helped me, & he had no problem ignoring my continued symptoms, walking away & cutting me loose, with nowhere else to go. Since then, finding an exceptional surgeon to help me, I have had multiple spinal surgeries to undo & fix everything Chabot did, & better address other areas that he obviously didn't see &/or clearly didn't care about. If this helps one person, the time it took to write this was worth it.

I really like Dr. Chabot, not only for being a great surgeon, but also for his compassion for his patients. His bed side manner was awesome during my hospital stay after spinal surgery. The waiting time for my appointments are long, but worth it. I recommend him highly.

Very easy to get in. All office staff was amazing. Very short wait times. Xrays done in office and shown and explained. Dr. Chabot is an amazing, he was the only one to do anything even find the true cause of pain after being to two other Drs. He has a caring staff that helps with any questions, paperwork or appoinrments. X RAY techs are fast and willing to make sure they look great for the Dr. Would recommend to anyone with back problems.

If you want the best, go see Dr. Chabot. I was in debilitating pain when I went to see him, he ordered an injection (which I received that day, and his staff made the appointment for me). Once I consented to surgery, they made the appointment for that month and made the appointment for my ekg for me. The surgery was in a surgery center where I felt like I was their only patient (they were great). On top of all that, they fought the insurance company for me. I really can’t say enough about how appreciative I am for the service they gave and the trust I have in them.

Dr Chabot cares about his patients from start to finish. For my 2 surgeries, lower back and neck, Dr. Chabot did an excellent job in repairing my injuries. He made sure that he left no stone unturned when he repaired the damage that I had developed over time from my degenerative disc disease. His bed side manner was beyond reproach when he visited me after surgery and answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. If I am in need of neck or back surgery in the future I will definitely return to Dr. Miachael Chabot’s office and I highly recommend his services.

I have complete confidence in Dr. Chabot, but I want to also want to sing the praises of his office staff, especially Dawn. She is patience, compassionate, competent and actually returns calls and does what she says she will. She has been reassuring when my surgery was postponed due to a different health concern. She’s a star employee.

Before I was referred to Dr. Michael Chabot I couldn’t walk more than ten or fifteen feet before I had shooting pain in my lower back, with pain was so bad I’d cry at times. Dr. Chabot reviewed my X-rays and MRI and stated I had spinal stenosis and five degenerative disks in my lower back. After Dr.Chabot operated the pain in my back was gone. Three month postoperative and I’m walking with and without my cane, and still pain free. I’m getting better everyday and foresee Getting my life back to normal. Dr. Chabot worked a miracle on my back and I would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from back pain / issues.

Everyone from the doctor to the receptionist is awesome to talk with everyone was very friendly and very help full, every person I crossed paths with in this office and the hospital went out of their way to help. I can not say enough good thinks, my back has been doing great ever since the surgery in December of 2022.

Dr. Chabot is an expert orthopedic surgeon. He is efficient, knowledgeable and to the point. He identifies the problem and moves to the solution. His staff is outstanding; their attention to detail is excellent.

Dr. Chabot is very a professional, courteous and through surgeon. He always listens to my issues and informs me of what his diagnostics show and what procedure he will perform. I have recommended family members to his practice. The Staff always are helpful and friendly, especially when it comes to scheduling and details.

I was referred to Dr. Chabot by my PCF. From the first to my last visit I was thoroughly impressed by how Dr. Chabot's office staff treated me. Dr. Chabot spent a lot of time going over my medical history, reviewing and testing my current issues, and spent quite a bit of time answering all of my questions and concerns once he recommended surgery as my final option. The surgery at St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital went fantastically smooth; Dr. Chabot performed the surgery and I felt safe and well taken care of by his operating room staff. I received multiple calls from Dr. Chabot's office checking up on my recovery progress in the weeks following my surgery. I have never been treated with as much care and compassion in a medical environment as I received from Dr. Chabot and his staff, and from the St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital staff.

Dr. Chabot is an excellent surgeon and did a remarkable job on my 4 level ACDF surgery….His staff is courteous and accommodating and we’re always there to answer any questions…I would highly recommend him for your surgery….his knowledge is immeasurable and he explains the surgery very well….I feel my recovery was exceptional due to his expertise.

Dr. Chabot did an excellent job on my spinal fusion surgery in my neck. He was very thorough in his explanation prior to the surgery when I met with him. I had gone to him for a second opinion and decided to have him do the procedure. I have recovered exactly as he described prior to surgery and in my follow ups he continues to do a great job explaining everything. I would highly recommend him. His staff is excellent as well.

After discussing what the results of tests were, he explained what he felt needed to be done and how he would do the surgery if that was my choice. I did have the surgery, and the results have been wonderful. He was very pleasant on all the hospital visits were and on the follow up visits.

The lady handling medical records is extremely rude for no reason. Please get a different job and maybe know what you are talking about before you tell someone they weren't seen there when indeed they were? Not good to have an attitude for no reason when you work in healthcare, seriously different job.

I was sent to Dr Chabot by my primary, and it was a great experience. Both times I had pain in both legs and could not walk. After surgery I was able to walk, no pain. I was very pleased with all concepts of my surgeries with Dr Chabot and his staff.
