Dr. Mehul Shah is a shame for this city and for Florida. To start from the end I can not give him more than 1 star. He only sees you in the 1st visit, rejected my requests and opinions even if I am a PhD, MsC, BSc and I am a Medical Physicist. He lied when saying I can see a Podiatrist only if I have diabetic feet, he lied saying that PSA is specific even if American Cancer Society, Mayo Clinic and University of Harvard say different that DRE (digital rectal exam) is a must). He rejected also to refer me to an orthopedic surgeon even if I have a fall from November 2016 and have an MRI with 2 tendons teared. I think he cares only about money and not about the patients. Nevertheless I must say Carla Johnson (referral Manager) is excellent and all his staff (Megan ,Samantha and others). I would propose him to be inspected and eventually withdraw his License.

Beware do not see this physician! IFrom the providers within the practice to the office policies equates to poor patient care and ultimately outcomes! Per the office policy they do do any medication prior authorizations. How can a provider practice good medicine without doing any prior authorizations is beyond me. Posted in patient rooms is a letter stating the law dictates he cannot prescribe controlled substances. That is not what the law states! If it is his choice not to prescribe Controlled Substances the letter needs to state that not a lie about the law! But yet again how do you practice good medicine and patient care with a blanket statement I do not prescribe controlled substances! He documented false information in my patient record. He refuses to do physician referrals even if another physician believes it is in the best interest of the patient to see a specialist. Dr shah works for the insurance companies and not the patient! Avoid this practice!

The only reason they get 1 star is the stellar staff who go out of their way to try to provide excellent care. Dr Shah has zero empathy towards patients beyond what he can bill their insurance. He also hires incredibly incompetent PAs who do not familiarize themselves with patients prior to entering exam rooms. When they do get in the room, they ask a question then ignore your answer as they read your file familiarizing. Referrals must be begged for. When I told one PA about increasing, incapacitating pain in my big toe, she pointed to her bunion & said "me too, there's nothing any doctor can do about it". I said I'd like to hear that from a podiatrist & begged for the referral. The wonderful Carla handled the referral quickly & I discovered the toe has spurs + bone chips embedded, requiring surgery. I recently moved out of area & am awaiting appt w/ new PCP, Dr Shah is refusing to refill RXs. Horrible treatment now that the $ stopped. Shameful.

Dr. Shah is very condescending, impatient and rude. His staff is combative and incompetent. It took numerous phone calls and 3 months to get him to sign a referral to a hearing specialist. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy!

Personally Taunted and humiliated by physician and when explanations were presented he would ask if I wanted to argue or be treated. I was made to suffer weeks with a broken finger and swollen hand for 13 days. This man may be educated but is not in my opinion an ethical doctor nor possesses one ounce of sympathy nor empathy for the sick or those in need of medical attention. He refused referrals for a psychiatrist when told I had seen one for years after my daughter w/ killed & suffer from PTSD
