Rudest Doctor& No Bedside Manner!
Dr. Kalp was called in to evaluate my daughter. Apparently he knows everything and NOTHING AT ALL. When I asked him direct questions with regards to my daughter’s care in ICU he would be dismissive of me. HOW DARE HE! Why on earth is he even employed. Thank God she was transferred to Duke Hospital because her life depended on it, and he is absolutely an embarrassment!! He has a disgusting habit of trying to show off in front of his students/team he leads around. Such a terrible mistake on the part of Novant. Your Hospital will surely suffer with the likes of this character there!

Awful
My 82 year old father with dementia had falllen, sustained multiple broken ribs and was not very responsive afterwards. Dr Kalp was consulted because he appeared to be having repeated/constant seizures following his fall. Dr. Kalp just brushed him off as advanced dementia. He would not fully assess my father. The primary doctor believed my father was having seizures and wanted an EEG done. Dr. Kalp wouldn’t and said advanced dementia, consider hospice. My father was walking and talking the day before he fell. He did not have advanced dementia. He was not bed bound, knew his family and could carry on a conversation! I would never recommend Dr. Kalp or allow him to treat any other family member!!! He does not respect the value of life in older people.

Dr. Kalp was extremely rude to my Father and our Family. My Dad at 88 years, said he had a good life and did not want a lot of procedures. Dr. Kalp said, “Well, we all have to die sometime”. He talked down to us when we asked questions. We did not let him and his team return to the hospital room. Would not have him for any family members doctor.

Condescending and unhelpful
My mother was an inpatient for stroke and has dementia. Dr Kalp was condescending, never spoke with/to my mother, and rolled his eyes every time he spoke. He implied that her stroke symptoms were a manifestation of the dementia. I am embarrassed that we both work for the same organization.

I didn’t need a doctor with flowery words
During my ER visit Dr. Kalp worked with me for two days. He never spoke of things I could have until he had the proof that they existed he did tell me what the tests were for and made me feel confident in his choices. I know some people in this situation need the Dr to be very chatty and spend a lot of time making them feel comfortable. I however just want to be told what the problem is and how we fix it. I just wanted to go home.

He goes to my church and saw me in the hospital for headaches. He gave me an injection in the back of my head that worked a miracle. He then referred me to an outpatient neurologist that I love.

My mother was evaluated by him in the hospital and he recommended some medication changes that made a big difference. Overall, we had a great experience at NHRMC and I was impressed with their service.

Dr. Kalp is a living example of why people can be book smart but yet have no common sense or have any sort of bedside manner. He is an embarrassment for NHRMC and is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I was seen by Dr. Kalp as a patient at NHRMC. He was, without a doubt, the rudest Dr. I have ever met. When I spoke, he would interrupt me and not allow me to answers his questions. He even corrected my grammar. He cancelled my MRI, without explaining to me why. He spoke to me as if I was a child. I have never felt like I wanted to ask a Dr. to leave my room, until I met Dr. Kalp. According to his bio, he is obviously a very imtelligent man. He may even be a good neurologist, but he was mean.
