Dr. Matthew Boyd, MD

Dr Boyd has no interest in helping people who are suffering from mental and physical health issues, he thinks you can change all of this with diet. If you are suffering from any ailment, I would suggest going to a better doctor that is actually interested in helping you because Dr Boydwill lie to you and he is comfortable allowing you to suffer. He also didn’t believe me that I needed medication even after I showed him my prescription, almost accusing me of forging the prescription possibly for it’s street value. He is a terrible doctor who doesn’t trust his patients and has no interest in prescribing their much needed medications

He is the rudest Dr. that I have ever seen. I agree with one of the other reviews, mentioning that he talks down to you, etc.

Dr. Boyd has poor interpersonal skills and is more interested in talking down to you than listening. Some people, including myself, are nervous at hospitals. Dr. Boyd does nothing to relieve any of the patients anxiety. Additionally, I felt like he really didn’t even want to be at the appointment. I do not get to the doctor very often and was looking forward to the visit. However, because of Dr. Boyd’s attitude and lack of interest, afterwards I just felt depressed. If you are in Grand Haven, please look at other PCPs before settling on Dr. Boyd.

Dr. Boyd is a great doctor, he cares about his patients actual health and does not just write scripts to appease the masses. He is a no BS kind of doctor and if your health is bad due to poor life choices rather than medical Issues, he has no qualms explaining that to you! That is why he has some bad reviews, because he does not sugar coat anything! I trust this doctor to shoot straight and really help me become a healthier person and not just to throw a bunch of pills at me as a band-aid fix!

Does not ask about previous medical history before suggesting plans for health. Caused serious medical setbacks because of it.

Office manager is rude and very unprofessional. It’s really sad because I really enjoyed Beth and the nursing staff.

Dr. Boyd is an excellent listener and always takes his time. I’ve never felt rushed nor is he ever behind schedule. He tries to avoid testing if not necessary and tends to not sugar coat things. My family has been seeing him for years and he does well with my teenage daughters.

Refused to send me to a endocrinologist to treat my thyroid condition

Dr. Boyd explains suggested procedures or medications. He listens. The appointment time is not rushed.

Dr. Boyd didn't listen when my daughter told him she needed medication for a UTI. She ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection. He also ignored her concerns about negative effects of her ADHD medication. Her new doctor, who specializes, was appalled when he heard what she'd been taking. The dosage prescribed by Dr. Boyd far exceeded what was appropriate and the side effects my daughter was suffering were common ones he should have recognized and addressed.

Excellent care and beside manner. I appreciate his approach to medicine being as natural as possible and using drugs as little as possible.
