I'm having the same exact experience as Ellevader in Thousand Oaks, except the reason for my lung condition is well documented in my medical records and she very stubbornly refuses to accept it or listen to me and wants to make it about her diagnosis instead. She has prescribed very harsh and inappropriate medications as a result. In 2015, I ended up in the hospital having an allergic reaction to a medication, and the doctor who first listened to me and treated me accordingly saved my life. I'd still be seeing him except that I moved from the east SFV to Thousand Oaks. I'd love to know the doctor Ellevader saw because I'm desperate for a doctor who listens in or near TO.

I went to see Dr. Merchant for shortness of breath and she was so rushed she never even put a stethoscope to my chest. She prescribed oxygen and initiated the order from her cell phone, she then handed her phone to my husband to finish the order because she had to see another patient. I later went to another doctor who determined the shortness of breath was actually an adverse reaction to a medication I was on. Dr. Merchant did not offer an ounce of respect or dedication. Go elsewhere.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Merchant?
Dr. Merchant focused on something that was totally unrelated to the reason I saw her, and proceeded to misdiagnose me with something I didn't have. Then reported the disease to my insurance company, causing even more problems. I ended-up seeing another pulmonologist who not only listened to me, but pointed out her errors and misdiagnosis. If it wasn't for the second opinion, I would be on harsh medications that I don't need. Perhaps when she has more experience, she'll be less arrogant.
