Dr. Marty Meyer, MD

Delegated colonoscopy to someone else. Sweet talker but otherwise not very helpful. Maintains status quo, no additional information. Does not reply to emails. I am switching out.

I’ve been a patient of his since he started working at OSU before going to Ohio Gastro. I’ve seen over a dozen gi doctors and Dr.Meyer is hands down the best I’ve ever met. He has great bedside manner and is very kind and caring and listens to you. He takes his time and doesn’t make you feel rushed. The only downside and it’s not his fault at all is the Ohio Gastro office is so hard to get ahold of and when you get someone they transfer you and then they don’t answer and then you have to leave a a message and sometimes it takes two days to get a call back if they even call you back. They need to have the option to easily get ahold of his nurse or his office staff for urgent matters.

I was assigned Dr. Meyer randomly for my first preventative screening colonoscopy at age 45. Three polyps were found and removed at that time. Had follow up colonoscopy one year later (per his recommendation). At that time a polyp was suspicious for colon cancer. Recommended surgery to me, which likely saved my life, as it was caught early enough. Surgeon he recommended was top notch. Dr. Meyer has taken great care of me on follow up visits, and I will be seeing him yearly for annual colonoscopies moving forward, which I feel very comfortable with. The office staff and nursing staff are excellent! Dr. Meyer has a great bedside manner and is a caring and knowledgeable doctor.

I went into the hospital two separate times in 2021. I met Dr. Meyer when he came to visit and check on me at the hospital, on a weekend. Doctors rarely visit patients at the hospital on weekends. I immediately switched from the doctor who had been assigned to me at the hospital, to becoming Dr. Meyer’s patient because of his consideration.Since being in Dr. Meyer’s care (almost 3 years now), I have been doing great. He listens to and validates my concerns. He is a genuine human, not a robot like some other Specialists who treat their parents like another number. 100% highly recommend.

Dr. Meyer is such a pleasant doctor. He listens to my concerns, and answer my questions. I like him very much.

Start to finish this appointment took 30 minutes! I had no wait time whatsoever- which is extremely rare nowadays. When I checked in, I went to sit down and my name was already being called. When I got to the room, the nurse was with me immediately and I waited less than a minute to be seen by the Dr. Seemed to run like a well oiled machine and extremely efficient. The doctor spent time answering my questions and provided a great care plan.

Dr Meyer and the team at Ohio gastro were excellent. Very organized team.. took me on time for my appointment and everyone was so nice and professional. All of the materials provided in advance of my procedure were were easy to read and understand. I appreciated all the detailed instructions and videos. I highly recommend ohio gastro and Dr Meyer!

Dr. Meyer is a great doctor who makes it easy to discuss uncomfortable problems. I always feel that he listens to what I have to say.
