Dr. Mark O'Brien, MD

I have been seeing him for several years now. He is the best primary care physician I have seen. He cares about patients health and does a thorough examination every time. He recommends ideas and actions that can prevent potential bigger health issues. He takes his time and won't make you feel rushed in most of the appointments. His nurse is good as well. He is often late to his appointments, most likely, because he spends more time with every patient, so I would plan extra time. Other administrative staff in his office may not be as friendly, so I'd ignore them. I'd highly recommend him.

Dr O is honest, thorough and patient. He listens to what I ask, discusses his thoughts about what I’m saying and then we come to a conclusion. He’s very direct and I like that. The whole team is great.

He took the time to listen to me and we worked together to solve most of my health problems, he really cares!

Was very disrespectful and didn't acknowledge when asking for a referral. Do not recommend. Go see Dr. Amin

He left Riverview after 1 year, we were very upset. I find out he moved to IU Health. We will be following him there (wife and myself). We have been very pleased with him and he even saw me in the hospital when I was very sick. Not many doctors do that today.

I have an autoimmune disease that was missed by 2 other physicians in his group. Dr. Obrien spent 30 minutes with me and after a few blood tests not only was I diagnosed but treated and now I am feeling better than I have in years. He really took the time to LISTEN to me. Fabulous doc!

This doctor took over my other doctors patients when he left. He is VERY judgemental and condescending! He made it seem as if my other doctor whom I had been seeing for three years didn’t know what he was doing. There are so many other great doctors in this office so pass on him and go to any of the others.

I went to his office with mild chest pain and a cough for 4 weeks. After he examined me he thought I was having angina chest pains. I didn't believe him at first but he insisted I have a treadmill exam. He was right, he had me see a cardiologist and after 2 heart stents I'm pain free. He really did save my life.

I feel mixed about Dr. O'Brien, I think he is extremely smart Dr. but he seems always in a rush. His office staff will confirm he seems ADHD, so easily distracted and always trying to move to the next thing. So at times he is great and at other times but not so much.

My family of 6 have been goin for a long time..years..then we were seeing his nurse pract., but he's still list as our primary on our insurance. Well the NP retired so we tried to make appts with him to refill vital meds(we both have serious med conditions) Even tho he's accepting new patients, we were turned down and told we weren't a good fit. Guess he don't wanna deal with patients with ACTUAL issues! My family(including extended) will be finding new dr. Word of mouth spreads quick.....

Worst experience with a physician. Spent less than 30 seconds with patient and managed to insult and improperly and incompletely treat patient.
