Great doctor!
I could not disagree more with the negative reviews left on this site. I have brought my son to see Dr. Fishbein in his feeding clinic, after having him recommended, and I have been very happy with our experience. My son was having poor weight gain, and I felt comfortable with Dr. Fishbein from the start. I felt that he really listened, and it was as if you could see the wheels turning as I was explaining my son's issues. He was right on the money with his recommendations, and we were able to get my son the assistance he needed to start gaining weight. When I had concerns over what my son's feeding would look like in the future, he was honest and put my mind at ease. I will also mention that I am a nurse practitioner in adult GI, so I feel confident in stating that Dr. Fishbein covered all the bases, and I feel very confident that my son is receiving the best care.

Probably the worst dr I have ever met
I saw Dr. Fishbien at Lurie’s Children’s last week for my 7 week old daughter. To say he was a friendly pediatric GI doctor couldn’t be further from the truth. He also sets out to gaslight the parent and doesn’t spend anytime with your child before he makes his assumption that your “child’s issue isn’t (his) problem”. Considering my daughter has severe reflux I would assume it might be his problem. But I digress. I wouldn’t waste my time seeing him. He wouldn’t even answer any question that I had about medication or condition. So 0/10 recommend.

Horrible experience. Saw him twice and both times he didn't examine my son. Kept telling us it was seizures. We put our son through so many unnecessary tests because of it. We found a new pediatric GI doctor and he after his examination, said right away it was reflux and constipation. His bedside manner is terrible too. Would definitely not recommend him.

I brought my son here because of lack of weight gain and stomach issues, along with iron deficiency and a recent bout of C diff. Dr. Fishbein was great because he immediately identified the problem as potentially being inflammatory bowel disease. A procedure was promptly scheduled and it was confirmed as Crohn's. The doctor put him on medication and there was an immediate improvement. The staff was very caring and considerate every step of the way, from the initial appointment, to the follow up appointments, to the procedure. Even when there was an issue with insurance with one of the medications, his nurse went above and beyond to resolve the issue. I highly recommend this place! Dr. Fishbein and all of his staff were wonderful!

HORRIFIC experience!!! If Zero stars was an opt he deserves that..& that is being generous! We were referred to him by our peds for our daughter who was FTT (failure to thrive). We had our 1st visit w him & I've never been more appalled in my life! I explained what all was going on w my daughter & he told me he "refuses to touch" my daughter until we see 13 other specialists bc he doesnt believe she has a GI issue (we spent a few visits in the ER w her bc she had blood in her diapers- he believed its not his problem to solve). After following up w 13 specialist per his demand,"no contributing factors for her FTT and GI issues". We went back to him now w a medical laundry list &still refused to look at her. I demanded to see a diff GI,& she was "cured" within 24 hrs of seeing new GI. she had a severe dairy allergy! Very rude, lacked knowledge & bedside manner, just insulting. Wasted alot of precious time (&$) as my daughter laid there lethargic. His practice is a joke & infuriating

Horrible Doctor. He doesn't listen to parents and doesn't care to understand diseases that may contribute to eating/digestive difficulties. He has a horrible attitude towards patients and families. Please see someone else, not him.

I really wish I read the reviews. Dr. Fishbein doesn't listen and doesn't seem to care about his patients. He didn't ask my 13 year old any questions. About a week after our appointment, I insisted they schedule the endoscopy because I knew something was wrong. Nobody called me with the results, I had to call the office to see if they were in yet. Even after we got the esophagitis diagnosis, I told the nurse he was in extreme abdominal pain and explained all of his symptoms. They said that it's not normal, but to keep taking the medicine. I called again the next business day and put in an "urgent" message because my son was doing so poorly he was down to a liquid diet and in a lot of abdominal pain. I did not receive a call back for that - but a couple hours later I got a call that our follow up appointment is going to be moved out a MONTH because the doctor was taking the day off. The next day the nurse called back only after I sent an email, but still no follow up actions.

Didn't explain why or what he was doing before a semi invasive exam, which in retrospect was unnecessary. Charged for said exam, then a rehearsed speech and a goodbye. The paperwork we got before leaving directly contradicted what he said minutes prior and included medication he never even mentioned. Guess it's up to us to figure out what it's for after paying the bill. If this sounds like the kind of treatment you want then suit yourself. Regret going, won't go back.

Dr. Fishbein is the best. We were blessed to find him after a series of several doctors that blew off my child’s feeding issues and low body weight. My son has gained weight and his entire personality has changed. We thank God that we found this outstanding doctor who changed our son’s life.

Dr. Fishbein is a NIGHTMARE-horrible bedside manner, poor diagnostician. He insults parents, ignores children and DOES NOT LISTEN! He doesn't order appropriate tests and tries to force kids into surgery unnecessarily. Not to mention he's completely RUDE and unprofessional in the process! Go anywhere else with you child but AVOID Dr. Fishbein!!

horrible bedside manner.acts as though he doesn't want to be bothered with your concerns.couldn't even finish talking before he was shaking my hand and walking out the door.he put the responsibility on his speech therapist who is great but obv not dr. my poor baby suffered for months with terrible silent reflux and he suggested it was a feeding issue. she had chronic diahrrea as well and he showed no concern. he has a very dangerous way of practice and I genuinely feel his ego gets in the way.
