His surgery changed my life
I stopped seeing Dr. Cullen within three months of my surgery because of alarming communication issues. Dr. Cullen suggested we use a portion of my quad tendon for an ACL reconstruction, a practice he said he'd help pioneer and make popular in the medical community. I said yes, that makes sense. However, almost two years out from that surgery and the harvest site has become a source of chronic pain, weakness, and a daily reminder of this surgeon's incompetence. Additionally, he didn't communicate he was putting screws in my legs, his team didn't administer an effective nerve block (the worst pain I've ever felt), and his test to see if I was progressing was if I could do a pistol squat (I've never been able to do that). After incorrectly remembering who I was and what I had operated on two post-op visits in a row I opted to see another doctor in Portland. I eventually needed a second surgery to try and fix the quad tendon. It's better now, but still debilitating.

Highly recommend!!
Incredibly responsive and patient focused. Is an advocate for his patients. Dr. Cullen is patient and understanding and most certainly cares about his patients. We have seen Dr. Cullen for various injuries and this has always been our experience. Amazing physician who takes the time needed.

Dr. Cullen
He operated on my knee in 2021, condition has worsened over (through NO fault of Dr. Cullen), just degeneration of my bones. He explained all to me in language I could plainly understand without any double-talk. I would highly recommend this physician!

Excellent Experience
My son recently broke his ankle and was treated by Dr. Cullen. Dr. Cullen was fantastic at communicating with my 13-year-old in a way that would deliver some really disappointing news in the best possible light. He is very clear with his treatment plans, kind, empathetic, and personable. The office on Pease also runs like a well-oiled machine and you aren't stuck there wasting your day away. After our second visit, my son got in the car and said, "He is a really great Doctor!" There you have it - my son and I highly recommend Dr. Cullen!

When I first saw Dr Cullen as a patient, I was very pleased that he not only treated me with respect and professionalism but was very kind. Before and after my surgery, he showed his concern for me and continued to give me positive feedback even when I was not at my best. When he talks to me, I feel like I am his only patient. He gives me the time I need to ask questions at each appointment. Most of all, I feel like I am being heard instead of being condescended to!

My experience with Doctor Cullen and staff was and continues to be a wonderful experience. I had my right Knee replaced on July 18th, 2018 and I could not be happier with the results of this surgery. Both my knees were hurting me badly before the surgery on my right knee and I thought I would wait a year after my right knee replacement, then do the left knee. Now neither one of them are hurting, it is such a gift to me not to be dealing with knee pain 24/7 !!!!

Dr Cullen is the only doctor that I see at Mid Columbia Medical Center. I was misdiagnosed by 3 other doctors there and lost my hearing, but since he is my favorite doctor, I will still go to him. He did a fantastic job on my injured knee and now on my injured elbow. Dr Cullen is very professional and I trust him totally. I would recommended him to anyone. He is patient and very thorough.

Dr. Cullen and his staff were outstanding. I was seen the day after my injury and had an MRI that evening. They explained my diagnosis and answered all my questions. He outlined a clear treatment plan and a time line for return to lacrosse.

Dr. Cullen did an excellent job on my ACL. He was encouraging and supportive throughout my healing process. He and his team's care allowed me to meet a personal goal and has gotten me back in to backpacking which is a passion of mine. His passion is sports medicine and it shows.

I saw him when he was in Georgia. I almost lost my leg and he paid no attention to all the complaints I had and ended up with a raging infection under my cast. Wound all the way down to the bone, required plastic surgery to fix it and now only have limited motion of my ankle. Do NOT go to this doctor!
