Dr. Lois Kamugisha, MD

I am so grateful to have Dr. Kamugisha as my oncologist. She is very personable, well prepared for my appointments, and very intelligent, knowledgeable in Multiple Myeloma. She is quick to put me at ease when I need it and quick to react and solve as well. I’m so grateful to be one of her patients.

Thorough and personable

Dr. Kamugisha is caring and takes the time to review your conditions and will adjust treatment and or timing of appointments as necessary. Makes herself available for questions and does not rush. She is trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable.

This was my first visit to a hematologist so I didn’t know what to expect. She is a warm and empathetic doctor who takes her time explaining what to expect at this visit and with follow up visits depending on the results of blood work. My husband was with me and she looked at both of us and explained in detail what to expect going forward. She is very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her to any future patients.

This was my second visit with Dr. Kamigushi. She was well prepared and knowledgeable of my history . She offered much useful information and suggestions for future treatments . She is very up to date with the latest treatments. Plus she is so easy to talk to - an excellent listener. She is everything you look for in a physician!

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Kamiguisha. She has a very warm and outgoing personality. She thoroughly explained my medical issue. I was very satisfied and left feeling I'm in good hands.

My husband and I met with the good doctor and we left with a good understanding as to what was going on and the tests we needed to take. We felt very comfortable and hopeful after leaving the office.

Dr. K is definitely focused on the 'patient'. She reviewed my chart and commented that it will be 10 years in the practice next year. Explained meaning of blood values, significance of having Covid along with CLL. I'm very encouraged. Thank you.

I went to the hospital with back pain where I found out I had a broken back as well as Non-hodgekins Large B Cell Lymphoma. I met Dr. Kamugisha while I was in the hospital and and I am so glad I did. Dr. Kammy (as we affectionately refer to her) helped through the most horrific time in my life. Her approach to my healthcare was holistic. She helped treat not only my cancer, but my entire self. Her team, including Michele in the infusion center (HUGE shoutout to BTW), were so caring and attentive to my needs that I'm not sure I could have made it through without them. Dr. Kamugisha's incredible attention to detail, amazing bedside manor and a wholistic approach to healing made my experience more tolerable. I wholeheartedly recommend Starling Phsycians Infusion Center in Wethersfield, CT should you need a dedicated team to care for your needs.

Dr. Kamugisha did something many doctors have not done. She asked me about my concerns and if i understood why i was referred to her service. She then thoroughly explained what she saw as it relates to my test results, what was of concern and what was not from a medical standpoint; but she went further to ask me what were my concerns. Excellent physician.
