Excellent physician! Explains in detail and leaves no questions unanswered. Couldn’t go to anyone better, and I’m hard to please!

I recently saw Dr. Gorusu concerning my increased risk of blood clots. She listened to my concerns, went through my entire medical history and ordered additional blood work. She was extremely friendly, thorough and very, very smart. I would definitely recommend her if you’re looking for a hematologist. Excellent Physician!!

Dr Gorusu is thorough in her review of your care, takes the extra step if you feel that there is something of concern, and has grown in her empathy of her patients. She is not just a doctor of knowledge, which she has a wealth of, but has a genuine care of her patients. I try not to review based on a first impression as that is only a part of the whole. And as a patient traumatized with what he/she has experienced through the cancer process we are highly sensitive. I have been seeing her for almost 10 yrs and can say she has always wanted the best for me. Thanks you for your years of care. I am very thankful for you.

Very knowledgeable but not a people person. She needs to work on her empathy skills, be more polite, and show more interest in her patients. Too clinical, and sometimes can be very terse. She is a great hematologist, but if you want a friendly disposition, look elsewhere.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Gorusu?
Gorusu lacks the necessary skills, knowledge and empathy to effectively treat those in need. Furthermore, she lacks the fundamental leadership skills to lead Starting Physician as Vice President, CMG Branch. Regarding patient care, there are various traits Gorusu needs significant improvement, such as the tack to speak kindly to concerned family members. Here is one example, for Gorusu to not be condescending, rather answer questions in a polite and professional manner. I spoke to several other past patients and they indeed felt the same level of condescension, lack of empathy and lack of professionalism. She became irate and defiant; thus, we are now seeking treatment elsewhere. It’s unfortunate because there are many good doctors at Starling.

I am so pleased that my primary Physician referred me to Dr Gorusu. She is very friendly and takes time to speak to me and explain in detail about my lab results. She explains what effect the results have on my condition. I think she is an excellent Physician and would recommend any patient with cancer or blood disorder to see Dr Gorusu.

It depresses me that "Bristol" has been unable to trust Dr. Gorusu. In my personnel experience no one knows about the patient's insurance except those in the billing department. You should move on if you harbor such feelings. Find a treatment team you are comfortable with. She will not miss your insurance or lack of same.

Dr Gorusu has been treating me since 2011. She is one of the best physicians I’ve had in my 63 years. She thoroughly evaluated my condition and conducted appropriate procedures to eliminate any possible misdiagnosis. My close friends who are also highly esteemed physicians were also impressed by her thorough evaluation since my condition is difficult to diagnose. My prescribed treatment and medications are appropriate and non-invasive whereas another hematologist only proscribed surgery.

Dr. Gorusu and her staff are excellent. She is compassionate and thorough and cares about you and your well being. She answers all my questions and is quite funny when you get to know her. It takes a while to know her, as any other doctor, but she is excellent in her knowledge and I know I am in good hands with her as my physician.

She is condescending towards patients and acts as if she is too important to answer questions despite the fact that going through cancer treatment is a daunting, terrifying experience that the average person going into knows very little about and can be facing death. She has terrible patient skills. I was newly diagnosed and was treat d as if I were wasting her time for asking about my condition, treatment, and whatto expect. Others I talked to say she is worse with those with poor insurance
