Long time patient and employee. Dr Sullivan and associates offer thorough and comprehensive care every time, in a private practice setting. Their educational website is above the standard, especially with explaining the insurance industry game. Don't pay attention to negative reviews if they seem to echo dissatisfaction with the insurance company and not the office. The office schedules and bills according to each insurer's rules. A lot to keep up with in addition to caring for patients!

Dr. Sullivan herself is a great Doctor, but but there are some negatives. She helped me when others couldn't. She knows her field, and takes the time to answer all your questions, explain her thinking, and give you a written plan of treatment. Usually you see her PA first to ask the questions, run preliminary tests, and then the Doctor will come in and explain things. But when Covid hit, the practice was forced to close the Buffalo Grove office, so the only location is Highland Park - Not too bad considering the care one gets. I understand that it IS a business, and Covid hit the practice hard. From what I was told, the Doctor is doing research and has a gig with the Great Lakes Naval facility. But Dr. Sullivan is not seeing patients herself yet and relies on her PA's for that, and consults for treatment. The main negative now is there seems to be dual billing - both the PA and Dr. Sullivan submit charges, so yes it DOES seem excessive. I hope someday they'll reopen another office

Competent care, unexcusably poor customer service
I have recommended Dr Sullivan to multiple friends who, like me, had not been successful finding an allergist with positive results until Dr Sullivan. We all loved her -- initially -- and stayed because we were finally experiencing success. However, for far too many reasons none of us will return. Ridiculous wait times was the main issue before. Now, she is fee happy. I was told AT THE DOOR prior to my and my daughter's previous appointment that I needed to pay $200 up front. I had no choice but to do it since I needed the two annual appointments to secure our written prescriptions for refills. Why? I learned a month or so prior that she was now charging $50 to call in refills to a pharmacy. It had been a year and we both needed them. The idiocy of it was I knew the visits would be covered in full by insurance. Dr Sullivan received her payments from them two months ago. I have not been able to reach anyone in the office for TWO MONTHS to find out when I will receive a refund.

I was a patient of Dr. Lisa Sullivan when she recommended that I receive allergy shots. Before I would commit to the shots, I was assured by her and her staff that my shots were covered by my insurance company at 100%. Otherwise I would have declined. I have only had two office visits but I'm sporadically being charged for unexplained charges. When the charges were once again questioned and I verified once again that I was told my shots would be covered by my insurance at 100%, the staff told me that the charges were for a previous doctor’s visit back in December 2019. I never had a doctor’s visit in December 2019! For current or future patients of hers…I would advise not to trust anything that is said and definitely to not provide your credit card or banking information. Dr. Lisa Sullivan clearly does not care about her patients or their well-being.

Dr. Sullivan herself when you actually are able to visit is great. What I do not like is that twice I have made appointments only to be told that she will not be in that week and I would have reschedule. They were both at the same time of year, so I do not understand that if you know that that time of year you will have to do something, then do not have your office staff take appointments.
