Horrible Experience
I visted Dr. Fraenkel a few years ago after my previous doctor retired. I honestly dont think I have ever been treated worse by a physician. I felt personally attacked and she compared herself to my mother being disappointed. She was absolutely cold and dismissive. I was a smoker at the time she spent a majority of the appointment berating me for it (went in for my arthritis), rather than providing me with options to quit. Never returned and even ended reaching out to the patient care to report my experience. Luckily the person I talked with was extraordinary when I explained what had happened during my appointment but I surely will NEVER return to Dr. Franekel for my needs.

First impressions
This provider doesn’t deserve a half a star. She let let know up front she can careless of your diagnoses and who recommend her. I came in the office ready to meet my new doctor that another doctor told me she would take care of me just like he did. HA! Either he set me up or he doesn’t know his colleague. I’m confused why she became a rheumatologist. That’s a compassionate occupation. She does not meet the requirements. If you are looking for a doctor that is concerned, patience, and you matter as a person. Well she is not the one. If you decide to go to her. Your first impression my look like she is having a hard day. She’s not she is shrewd.

Cold, Poor Listener, Dismissive
After a recent appointment, I found this MD arrogant, dismissive of my concerns, and simply not very friendly. Certain not warm. With such a poor bedside manner, I wonder how she feels good about her practice... A few days after seeing her, I went to a specialist in Boston, who disagreed with much of what she said... While no doubt, we have many fine MD here in Pittsfield... she is not one of them... And When in doubt, get out of the Berkshires!

The Best
Dr. Fraenkel is an excellent diagnostician. I am very grateful she determined my issues and treated accordingly. The symptoms were very illusive and required tenacity.

She listened to me and found my issue
Dr. Fraenkel spent all the time she needed with me to go over my incredibly long list of questions. She patiently answered all of them and made sure I understood her answers. I have now been seeing her for 2 years now and am confident in her diagnosis and treatment! Her staff automatically schedules my next appointment and always calls to confirm it. If I’ve ever needed any prescription refills, it only takes 1 brief call and it happens almost immediately. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone who is in need of rheumatology assistance.

Dr Fraenkel is very knowledgeable and thorough. She has years of experience at top notch teaching hospitals. She is smart, caring and listens well. My Boston Rheumatologist said she was the best resident that Boston Medical Center ever had in Rheumatology. Our Berkshires area, zip code 01201, is lucky to have her and her expertise.
