Very Nice Man
He listened to my questions and concerns. He definitely isn't there to play games. He is there to work.

Horrible bed side manner
Dr. McGowen has horrible bedside manner. He rushes through his appointments, doesn’t listen, and insults you and your intelligence throughout the short visit. I received the same treatment for two visits and the 2nd visit was even worse. I will NEVER return to his office again. I was in need to receive urgent medical help and was not helped due to his arrogance. Shame on you Dr. McGowen.

Horrible experience. Scheduled first appointment expecting a consultation, did not realize they were expecting to do surgery that exact day. Rescheduled for another during a time that we unexpectedly had a soccer tournament to go to. Rescheduled one last time and entire family was positive for COVID. Called the office and explained, even offered proof of the positive results. Did not want to walk in and spread to anyone else. They did not care at all. Said they would not reschedule, even though we unexpectedly got COVID and did not want to walk in their office contagious. Completely inconsiderate. Spoke to Gabrielle and she said that Judy did not care. They would not be understanding and give us another appointment. Worse experience from a Dr office. You would think they would be a lot more understanding during a situation like this. I guess they preferred us not to say anything and attend the appointment getting everyone sick!

He is a man’s man! If you’re a man, he will likely give you the very best care. If you’re a woman, please wait for a different doctor! ANY other Dr. he was dismissive of my symptoms and very short with me. He referred to my kidney stone pain as “bladder cramps” and then when the MRI showed that I had a stone, he refused to admit it. Possibly because he originally told me that he would “eat crow” if I wound up having kidney stones. He eventually told me there was nothing more he could do for me, even though I was still complaining of pain, some of which I believe was from the cystoscope he performed on me. I’m certain he was very rough while I was under General, because I had bruises on my inner thigh, I presume from his elbows during the procedure. I also heard an account from another woman that also said he treated her badly. So bottom line, please do not see this doctor if you are a woman!

My primary care physician referred me to Dr. McGowan for a vasectomy. It was easy to get an appointment and I had the surgery done 2 days after Christmas. I arrived at 10am and I was out by 10.50am. He offered a prescription for pain but I never got it filled, taking a total of 6 ibuprofen over a two week period with nothing but the most minor discomfort when I sat wrong. He and his assistant had a good sense of humor and I was relaxed throughout the procedure thanks to their excellent bedsi
