Dr. Shumate is awesome! She listens well and treats you like you are human. She is very kind and compassionate, and isn't afraid to tell you her struggles too which help you to not feel alone. I would highly recommend her for her ability to be non-judgmental and caring. I've had many doctors in my life and she has been the most personable.

I saw her a few times and she helped me. She took the time to actively listen. She did not let her perspective and experience override my own. She treats you like you are intelligent and an equal level of human being. She stands up and defends you with others that are unprofessional. She is a strong person but has never yelled and been "gruff". She articulates well with an ability to maneuver through the process. She doesnt let a pressure of the conglomerate take away her purpose and focus. I would rather wait and be treated thoroughly than to be rushed through as a foregone conclusion. She proves it through her behavior not just her words. I am happy I got to have her assistance
