Not enough questions
I went to talk about a drastic uptick of heart palpitations. I’m of perimenopausal age. Without asking ANY follow-up questions, Dr Sanville immediately started telling me that palpitations happen all the time and the heart resets itself. Basically, nothing is wrong. While he was kind, he did not ask sufficient questions, especially for a woman, to make any kind of accurate assessment.

He's a good doctor and he listens.
I'm very happy to have found this physician. He's inquisitive and explains things well. He is compassionate and intelligent. I've never felt rushed in our appointments. I think he's great.

Unprofessional and Unkind
My husband met with him and his experience was awful. He needed a primary care doctor, and Sanville was recommended (after a heart attack). Sanville was judgmental, condescending, and refused to treat or provide and medical recommendations. He referred my husband out for all medical care to specialists, and refused to provide a generalist approach. My husband needed medical provider that had an overall picture of his care. Specialists are hard to get into, and focus on limited aspects of health. It was his cardiologist that wanted him to see Sanville for overall care. He shamed my husband who had that sudden heart attack at age 50. My husband has been historically healthy, athletic with no medical issues. This was a significant life altering experience. So, to walk into a medical provider office and be treated as someone not worthy of his time was unacceptable. He was unprofessional and unkind.

Excellent doctor
Our entire family have been patients of Dr. Sanville for several years, and I can't say enough about the quality of his care or the concern for his patients. In serious health situations Dr. Sanville has gone above and beyond to stay in contact with us, monitor the progress of his patient, even outside of his own office hours. We were so fortunate to have connected with him when he first came to Jackson, and he has definitely become our trusted physician. I highly recommend him.

Went for annual wellness and he said I can’t do a wellness & address any other issues in the same visit. He said decide which you want. Selecting the issues I showed him my eye which is red — he says go to an eye doctor. I told him of my prostrate issue—go see A urologist. I had COVID last week—-he didn’t even check my lungs with his scope. I asked about blood work—yes I can do that but I see you had it done in Dec. so we will only do a few things which were not done before. Plus a urinalysis. The nurse came in to do blood work but they forgot to do urin test. I remember as leaving & went back in and asked the nurse. He said he didn’t know. Then looked at the computer & said ooo here it is. So I went in for wellness check and had to select issues I’m concerned about. All issues were deferred to another doctor.

I was new to the area and needed a new doc. Couldn’t have picked better. Dr. Sanville has a great bedside manner and really listened to my concerns. You can tell he is doing this for his patients.

I had an absolutely awful experience seeing Dr. Sanville. He spoke to me like a child from start to finish... unbelievably condescending. When I asked follow-up questions, because I want to be talked to like an adult with clear, direct answers, he did not steer me in a reasonable direction about what I should expect. Instead, he told me that there is "a possibility I would lose my leg" from a 5 cm flesh wound. I pressed for the likelihood, literally gasping for air between cries, and he again did not use this opportunity to steer me in a reasonable direction. Instead, he said it was hard to say and stepped out to make a phone call. Later, when I went to the ER, I learned that I have a "very low risk of infection" and I should heal just fine. Dr. Sanville did nothing short of terrorize me. You simply do not give patients unreasonable expectations of worst-case scenario outcomes and watch them wail without steering them back to reality. Do not see this dr, do not trust this dr.
